Naoya Inoue is legit one of the best P4P Boxers in the world & is a dominant Bantamweight champion, he’s one of the most technically skilled Boxers in the business, he could be as good as Lomachenko were he to move up in weight classes.

And Tenshin Nasukawa is still an Elite world class Kickboxer that has never lost a professional fight & had over 100 wins as an amateur, plus has competed in MMA & despite the spectacle of that shîtshow faux fight vs Mayweather is actually a really good Boxer too.

Kohei is one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Naomi Osaka is competing for Japan in the Olympics.

Rui Hachimura looks like a decent NBA player.

Before the Mongolians. The Polynesians were in the top ranks. Native Japanese sumo wrestlers have been down for a long time.

Yup. Hawaiians and Samoans had their own decade and a half of dominance. Thirtyfive and under crowd in Japan isn't interested in sumo.

Back in 2004/5, I was in my mid-20s living out there and I got very into the sumo. All my Japanese friends were like, "Lol. Why?" They considered it "old" and "too traditional".

Well, that, and the crazy levels of corruption...

Don't forget Kitajima. Dude was one of the all-time breaststrokers. Multiple gold medals and former WR holder.

That's because the younger generation got into MMA with Sakuraba, Gomi, Kid Yamamoto, Mega Megu and more

Now you are taking me back... I remember a lot of teenagers and young adults in Japan wanted to be Kid Yamamoto after he KO'd Genki Sudo to win the K1 2005 grand prix.
