I like this guy. Honorary degree from UM perhaps?
But do you love him?
How about we wait on the honorary degree until after we give on to Vanilla Ice for his "Ice Ice Baby" wardrobe?

Sure but it would have had virtually no impact if it came from Vilma, a guy already on the BOT. Vilma gets credit for being smart and figuring out the proper way to amplify the message but he needed the proper conduit and Herbstreit was the guy, really the best guy.
Vilma does more for this program than he’ll ever get credit for. He’s one of the people I was insinuating “ leading the change”.Sure but it would have had virtually no impact if it came from Vilma, a guy already on the BOT. Kirk is a fan of college football and our brand… his love for us is similar to that of USCw and Texas. He likes seeing traditional teams winning and competing.Kirk likes and respects Miami, and wants us to have a chance to be competitive.
He does NOT have "mad love" for Miami.
Why can't people just take Kirk at his word? Like. Not love.
Hey I’ve always been a Herbie guy. I know he’s one of the few guys in the media that has a soft spot for Miami. Or any other program with a history.I do not disagree with any of this. That's why they have different Academy Awards for screenwriters and actors.
Vilma wrote the script. Herbstreit read the words. Oscars for both.
Sloooooowwww down… Vilma was smart enough to reach out to Herbie knowing Herbie’s platform. That’s what the acknowledgment to Vilma is about. It’s not taking anything away from Herbie.Sure but it would have had virtually no impact if it came from Vilma, a guy already on the BOT. Kirk did what the fans couldn't. GotMiamiFRENK to get off its wallet.
Strong UM, USC and Texas - recruiting strongly - adds balance to the pillaging at will being done by a few teams in the SECKirk is a fan of college football and our brand… his love for us is similar to that of USCw and Texas. He likes seeing traditional teams winning and competing.
Vilma called Herbie and asked him to say publicly what he said in private. It was a coordinated attack, with Vilma leading the charge.Sure but it would have had virtually no impact if it came from Vilma, a guy already on the BOT. No. You’re just projecting that here. Without their money nothing changes - certainly not at the level we’re witnessing. Different people played and play different roles. So yall just gonna pretend the billionaires arent truly responsible for the changes??
Nah. Name me one Miami President who competitively spent money on football before Frenk.Fixed.
Agree. Talking heads been shtting on us for over a decade.No. You’re just projecting that here. Without their money nothing changes - certainly not at the level we’re witnessing.

Thank god for Kirk herbstreit (the mouthpiece puppet for vilma- the true god behind it….)Dammit mane,
During a Monday online meeting with reporters, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit looked back at his comments in September about the Miami football program. Many believe the comments by Herbstreit spurred change for the Hurricanes. Herbstreit questioned if the Miami Hurricanes had a unified vision.
The original comments were made in response to a column from Barry Jackson in the Miami Herald. Herbstreit told reporters he received a call from Miami athletic director Blake James and people on the board. The former Ohio State quarterback has been outspoken about the importance of Miami to college football
“I don’t ever like to credit for anything, I’ll just tell you I had a lot of conversations after I made those comments and they were heartfelt…I didn’t have an axe to grind. I like Miami. I’ve always had a spot for their program. What I said came from my heart because I want to see them have a chance to be competitive.
I got a lot of calls from the athletic director, people on the board…people reached out and thanked me for what I said. If it helped propel change, especially when it comes to funding, then great. Mario did reach out. Him and I talked before his presser. He was on the plane. I’m fired up for him. He’s a great coach. He lived it.”
Nobody knows it better than a guy who lived it…As much as I’m a fan of Manny, you can’t make up for a guy who’s part of the program and played on great teams…I like Miami’…I grew up in the ‘80s when Miami was Miami and got close to their program in ‘01, ‘02, ‘03…
I got to know the [program’s] personality and really [had] a different way of respecting it. So, I’ve always had kind of a [soft] spot for their program. What I said came from my heart, because I want to see them have a chance to be competitive.’’
