Kiffin to FAU

This is a fascinating development. Butch at FIU now Kiffen at FAU. Let's face facts. These two are capable of taking their programs to another level. Good news is that short term this won't hurt us that much. Long term we better not stumble. Butch may be here for a long time. Kiffen will build his resume and then move on.

Congratulations. You're really stupid. No impact on Miami, short or long term.

Maybe when you graduate from junior high school you will learn how to express your disagreements without invalidating your point without the personal insults. Sentence three was adequate.Sentence one and two were unnecessary.

There was nowhere else for this clown to go if he wants to be a head coach. He's been an HC at 3 places. At 2 he was fired mid-season and at the other place they merely hate his guts. Do the math.

Is he finishing out the year with bammer? If not, and they lose in the playoff, Lame will have a whole state full of cousin ******* rednecks after him.

All I know is only clowns hire someone based on their affiliation to Saban. Cough cough...

(Nah, it's actually a good hire for FAU. You're FAU. Might as well take a Hail Mary and throw **** against the wall and see what happens. It's not like they have anywhere to go but up.)

He is supposedly finishing the year with them. But now they have a built in reason/scapegoat if they don't win it all.

Hilarious. He must have realllllly been sick of Saban's ****.

IMO, this is all about ego! And I don't mean that in a bad way ... It is, what it is.

But this furthers the point I've been making in all of these coach debate threads. At a certain point, the money consideration falls way down the list.

Absolutely. ****, I'd take $400k less to not live in Tuscaloosa any longer AND be your own boss. The dude is single now too. You can only bang Saban's daughter soooo many times.

I guess being the CEO again meant that much Kiffin. He took a pay cut from BAMA and, presumably L$U, to be a HC again. Good move by Lane as any school willing to give him a contract without a strong buyout clause deserves what they get. I don't think Kiffin was ever going to get a major HC gig with all the baggage he had from his UT and USC days.

To put this in perspective, FAU just hired a coach with the resume:

- Former NFL Head Coach
- Former USC Trojan Head Coach
- Former Tennessee Volunteer Head Coach
- Currently 41 years old

FAU Hire > FIU Hire

He's been a flop at all 3 jobs though. Just because you've held high profile jobs doesn't make you a good coach.

Cam Cameron and Al Groh are former NFL head coaches too, and even FAU wouldn't give them the time of day.

Former FIU head coach Ron Turner was a former Power 5 head coach. He had as many 10 win seasons, as many BCS bowl berths and as many NCs as Butch Davis did at Miami. And how did Turner do?

What do you think Kiffin will call his new public access show?

Kiffin's
Owls
Weekly

Per Wikipedia: A majority of the (FAU) land was acquired from Japanese-American farmers from the failing Yamato Colony. The land was seized through eminent domain, leaving many Japanese-Americans little recourse in the early days of World War II.

I like it, but is there a way we could offend more people with the name? Maybe the last word could be something with a C or K?

I'm stunned. I knew he was a dumb **** but I never figured him to go from Bama OC to FAU.

Has anyone mentioned Butch Davis the God yet?

The whole thing just screams.....there's more to the story. At least to me. To be supposedly up for the Houston job and LSU OC (or stay at Bama) but chose FAU, for less money no less, seems "odd".

FAU Hire > FIU Hire

You are forgetting the strongest thing on Jimbo, Smart and McElwain's resumes upon being hired! Former Saban coordinator!
