They were after different guys.....but that shows they are bad evaluators because compared to our guys their tight end recruits sucked lol

Meh, these satallite camps are stupid. You'll have a bunch of staffs fighting over the same kid's and revealing their recruiting pitches to their competition. These camps are all happening during a quiet period, so the staff's aren't allowed to see the recruits outside of the camp setting. Totally ineffective for recruiting IMO.

There's always going to be several programs vying for creative ways to recruit down here. I think this staff is doing the only thing they can which was leverage their presence in the community and youth football camps at earlier and more frequent points. If proximity is our advantage, use it.

It is an extra visit to South Florida for the other coaches. You think they are doing it just to help Lane? No, when kid A goes to the camp, it allows more inspection/interaction. It will be good for those coaches. It will create a little extra comp for a few kids Miami, Michigan, and Tennessee are looking at. FAU will possibly get the productive undersized kid that is teammates with the blue chipper at their respective high schools!

The impact of these satellite camps have been minimal at best...

Kids go to camps all the time, these camps don't mean much to'em because they're at a different camp **** near every other month, literally year 'round.

Camps don't really affect recruiting for top programs, schools like Oh St, Bama, Clemson, etc are going to get theirs no matter what.

Coaching staffs, winning on the field & visits are far more important than any camp.

If you're legit worried about this, what specific recruit do you think we're going to lose to Michigan as a result of this camp?

They absolutely wanted Mallory, they dropped the ball with him because they expected since he was a legacy that it would be slam dunk, but Miami outgunned them for him.

They wanted Brevin Jordan, but it was contingent on landing DTR & recruiting them as a package deal.

They thought they were going to land DTR, which would've put them in a good spot for Jordan, because the two of them had been saying for months they were going to play with each other at the college level, but like most 16/17yr olds, that was just talk.

They went after Mustapha Muhammad because the Texas schools haven't recruited him heavy & he wants to leave TX anyway.

They were also after Jeremy Ruckert for awhile but Urban was beating them for him, so they put the focus mainly on Mustapha.

That's why he started labeling everything as "paradise". I'm sure he'll eventually start dropping some shade about all these coaches having to come TO "paradise" for sham events. Nonetheless, FAU's AD should be ashamed of himself for even letting Monte's son use their program for an event only designed to boost the reputation of Monte's son and will have zero benefit for FAU.
