Hard to tell who have on kickoff coverage on TV. Who do we have on the coverage team? I removed years ago watching Kellen Winslow and Andre Johnson running down on punt coverage

Also would love to see Lyle returning kicks……

Borregales kicked it deep into the same endzone after the return for a TD so the decision to kick these short appears to be strategic vs. wind impaired or not enough leg, etc.

Ray Ray not at least coming up to fair catch punts is frustrating. Watching him let them bounce for 10-15 more yards. It’s not that difficult to fair catch punts. I’m not sure what our strategy is back there. Special teams/coach needs to be reevaluated after the season.

IDK. I didn't see anyone out there covering kicks.

It needs to be evaluated immediately, not after the season honestly. We’ve still got everything to play for, with everything in front of us.

This has 100% been bothering me since Louisville, because it seems clear to me that we are telling Borregales to kick it into the corner. **** that garbage idea, and let him kick it deep every time.

He could just pull his jersey out at the bottom and field the punt in it like a basket if he’s afraid to muff it. 3 sizes too big. Looks like plenty of room to do it

kick off coverage is reserved for underclassmen trying to get noticed by making plays and showing effort. I would’ve honestly pulled some of them off for walk ons to make a statement after Louisville.

Said in the game day thread it’s time to let Abram Murray to kick offs because Andy simply doesn’t have the hang time.

Saw Elias Rudolph, Stafford, Markeith, Day, B Washington, Hayes, Nick Kelly, Chase Smith, Patterson, and I think Lightfoot.

Too many freshmen and a few guys that need to transfer.

Kick return and kickoff coverage are so disappointing.
Easiest thing to coach up. It’s literally effort. Some dudes on there are afraid to hit.

Its not just about being afraid to hit. There are a lot of busts in lane assignments and lots of bad angles. On that TD return we had 3 players converge on one spot to make the tackle, but two of them did it way too soon, leaving their lanes wide open and after a quick sidestep by the returner he was gone right by them

The Louisville game it appeared on purpose as well and bit us in the ***

I don’t get it but maybe there’s just some gloriously obvious answer I’m missing

That Louisville return some players made business decisions. Again that’s super easy to coach up and the fact it hasn’t been done yet is concerning.

That’s my thing… the effort seems like it’s there. Young and hungry kids going down to cover and trying to lay the wood.

Just lack maturity and awareness. Why it’s not kicked out the back of the end zone every single time anyway is a mystery to me before I even worry about the coverage

Hang time. You’re not giving enough time for coverage to get down with the integrity of their lane.

We simply can’t execute it.
