So in the perfect world where Kenmore gamble was in fact 100% dropped, can someone please explain to me the decided advantage of polendy to gamble outside of 'he has a bigger frame'. I see a lot of Herndon in gambles game and frame and outside of wanting more blocking i don't see how you prefer a bigger kid who isn't going to be half the weapon gamble is (and he's local).

I think they're looking for TE's who can do everything. Gamble is basically just a big framed WR.

He's a stud. I think this will haunt us. He's a pass catching specialist and a mismatch for most DB's. I trust Richt but I'm a big fan of Kenmore.

Different frames... It's what they believe the TE position requires in a power-running offense. They see these kids up close, talk to coaches, and watch a lot of film. I'm sure they know what they want in the position. They've had success before so i'll trust them.

Weapons are weapons. You don't hyper analyze someone when they can create a pass
Receiving mismatch at one position. And I'm sure he can get stronger and Hartley can ride him to
Block more and follow assignments. It's a mistake to do this to a potential weapon at tight end to
A local kid. Again I am assuming 100% he was dropped due to fit or lack of talent and not something else (attitude, criminal, etc.)

I even understand bringing polendy in as the second tight end who happens to specialize in blocking with ok upside as a pass catcher. But dropping the talented local kid in the name of restricting yourself to a run heavy scheme is dumb. And yes I know the coaches know more than me. I again over the years know they make a lot of mistakes.

Pssssst.....there are better players outside of SFL....besides, Gamble is a diva who got ****y because we didn't love him as much

Seems they like njokus brother better than gamble in the tweener role.

Gamble ain't even a real TE, and we clearly dropped him that is why he's so sour. Not missing out on anything, he's good but not great.

Maybe it'll turn out to be a miss, but there's no question after Pete's blog that UM dropped him.

Two things Folden did well: recruited kickers and TEs.

This staff like ALL others has a decision to make on all recruits at all positions. Some guys will be preferred over others. Some will be dropped like Gamble's case especially when a new staff comes on board. The only negative to dropping Gamble seems to be his influence on Davis. As a pure TE prospect, Polendy is a better option because we just signed Irvin who is a tweener like Gamble.

Yeah I get it there are 'better' players outside Florida. But how much better? I
Doubt the difference is great enough if high d1 schools like uf are recruiting him.

What does being a diva have to do
With being a good prospect?

Kid is clearly good enough to be a productive d1 tight end and you can see his frame in the recent write up that he has the frame to bulk up. The notion of 'great' is what I meant by overanalyzing. You're only focusing on his being upset with the questionable decision by this staff.

What does UF recruiting him have to do with anything....only good TE that ever played there is a murderer lol.
