Keith Bryant Army Game

I thought he looked talented. Good first-step, extremely long arms. Disrupted some plays and made a couple tackles when he was in.

The obvious issue with him is conditioning. When he sheds some pounds, he will be that much better.

So there is a high possibility he is the next Marcus Forston?

If Randy Shannon were his coach, yes.

Sometimes it doesnt matter who the coach is. Kid might not have the mental aptitude to put forth the effort to be successful. Forston had 2nd-3rd round potential, but just didnt give a **** and definitely didnt play 100% to his ability.

Keith is still young and enjoying the process, but you could tell that he took a couple plays off yesterday. Maybe it is conditioning but I thought it is was more mental.

Keith's Junior highlights showed a DT that's about as disruptive as you get. More than Forston. Forston was more of a beast where Bryant actually showed a lot of technique and quickness. Its there, he just needs to get back to using it.

They are different from a prospect perspective but the attitude could probably be considered the same.

I guarantee if we land Keith and he doesn't put forth more effort, he will have an injury plagued career just like Forston.

He wasn't dominant, but nobody was blowing him off the ball either. As others noted, he has a quick first step, and he was not slow for a guy who needs to get in shape. He didn't look like the incredible player that jumped off the screen in his Junior highlights, but he has plenty of upside.

Correctomundo! Good observation. Kid just has to lose weight, work the treadmill, hit the weights, and have the right attitude. I am worried about that last one.

This is what I saw as well.

the few plays i saw him he played to high... stood straight up almost... got off the block and fell on the pile. I haven't watched any other tape of him but he's a big DT that is obviously by everyone's opinion heavier than he should be playing at. Either way if AL thinks we need him and he's a good player then im all for him... Al hasn't proven me wrong yet..

The last thing I worry about in Goldens system is conditioning. It is virtually impossible to not work your *** off. The only option is to transfer. You can't skate by here anymore. That's why all I care about is getting the kid to school and then letting to process take care of his love handles.

the thing with Marcus is..that at 300+ pds and having functional strength..he was a guy that played like a one gapper all the way...Marcus in high school would literally stand straight up hold on the lineman and distinguish where the ball was going then get to it...which is why at times Tod Chandler seemed more active than him....that sort of play carried on to um also for him...and when the comp steppe up he wa getting blown off the ball alot.

Chief Kief honestly has a better get off....to me he may have more potential down the road.....

that being said..a motivated Marcus Fortson to go with our current dl class and last years wouldnt be that bad..
