Katie Meier suspended (Cavinder Twins NIL case)

So ... the "infraction" was facilitating the meeting/dinner, not the fact that it happened? Gotta keep the school and NIL employer separate. And Katie didn't know that?
seems under the new law this is now allowed, i think?

Thanks for that. I assume the dinner with Ruiz occurred before the new law was signed?
Yes, but... I don't really get how the Florida law change, which removed state restrictions other places (Colorado?) did NOT have to meet, really addresses the Cavinder situation. If the NCAA itself will not permit any "assisted inducement" effected by the booster(s) and the athletics/recruiting forces at a school... Florida removing a blockade isn't really helpful....

...in fact, the situation is in my opinion totally untenable... NIL_agents and athletes are asking boosters and recruiters "what's in it for me, who do i see, how much is possible" and even being told: go to RUIZ website... is sort of a technical violation of NCAA policy. And in January NCAA approved stricter sanctions (some are hearing the easy pat on Miami WBB was controversial) and NCAA-COI has more leverage (circumstantial evidence will suffice now). Sigh.

It's almost as if the NCAA, aka the SEC, is rubbing our nose in it w the Bama basketball player suffering no repercussions from being an accessory to murder, while we have a couple of players dining w a booster. You can't make this stuff up.

Someone mentioned it - we're getting too good in basketball and Mario recruiting well, and keeping some of the 4 and 5 star kids in S Fl for football.

The significance of this is that they investigated the ENTIRE athletic department and only found one bad dinner. If we were SEC paying for lawyers to contest potential murder charges is OK.

Wish I could find the post of the tool that said Ruiz could do no wrong because he’s a lawyer. As if Nijel Pack came here for the dope Cuban sandwiches and not the 800k.

I said publicly from day one that Ruiz talks way too ******* much and if he’s not careful, it’s not just gonna be the women’s basketball department that gets hit.
He’s trying to be the Elon Musk of an eye out and that’s not helpful to Miami no matter how many checks he writes
the idea of sanctioning UM for this violation is stupid. interestingly, they purposefully didn't "disassociate" ruiz from UM, a sanction that was in their ****nal. i am convinced that they didn't do disassociate him because Ruiz would have sued the f@ck out of them. yes, his ego and bravado on social media may be harmful but in this instance it also struck fear in the NCAA. i'm glad.

So essentially the NCAA is using the Cavinder twins as a reason why they have let all of college sports in a chaotic embarrassing no conduct rules until recently. They are using two college girls that give them max exposure to show the world they are in control. It shows how desperate the NCAA is and they have as a organization ruined college sports and will never fix this runaway train.

Congrats to the senior girls shaking off a tough week and playin with that Hurricane pride. With a season record of 18-11 and 11-7 in conference probably punches their ticket if they can win a couple at Tournament ….deal is done and could get a higher seed.👍

11-7 in the ACC gets them in. At this point, winning a game or two in the tournament just helps with seeding The analytics have them safely in at this point, but it's the NCAA Tournament, we know that anything can happen, especially if Miami is involved.
