Kaleb Spencer commits

This guy is an NCAA14 recruit to his core.

Firstly...his name is Kaleb Spencer. That's a DUB name for sure.
Secondly...he's a 6'3" 215lb strong safety recruit you're moving to linebacker and you get that +4 bump in OVR after the move.
Thirdly...after scouting...GREEN GEM.

- great closing speed and is physical
- from the Richmond area
- was an unranked kid as of the end of last year
- BV probably recruited him while at Clemson
- fast riser - might be a 4 star soon enough.

Am curious to see what kind of speed he has.

Somebody had mentioned 4.5 forty on another site.

Certainly not a top half of the class recruit, but there's some comfort that those kind of guys have real P5 offer sheets this time around.

Nobody said he is going to be an All-American. We are 7 weeks from the December Signing Day that involves about 70 to 80% of the Signing Class. You can "hope we land better", but then you don't say who we should be targeting. This is what evaluations are all about, who cares what Rivals or 247 or (god forbid) on3 think?

Nobody is getting a "hard on for 3 star guys". People are curious about this kid because almost nothing was written about him previously. Stop exaggering a "get to know our latest recruit" thread into some fictitious Heisman campaign.

Who is a good comp for this kid?

Looks like a shorter James Williams. A safety that looks and plays more like a LB that does not wrap up and you never see him in pass coverage

How do they play in college?

You wanna win the draft, or a national championship?

Clemson always had great LB play, usually from low rated kids that Venables evaluated.
He had 3-star white kids from like North Dakota out there killin' people.
