Just want to get the opinion around here.

Do you guys feel their play has been sufficient and they're stepping up like they are supposed to their senior year, or would you still prefer Deon Bush and Rayshawn Jenkins to be getting most of the PT

Are we assuming Bush is 100%? If yes, then Bush and Jenkins, but I will not knock AJ and Kacy, they've done all they've been asked to do, and have surpassed my (low) expectations.

Still prefer a HEALTHY Deon Bush & Rayshawn. But I've been pleasantly surprised at our safety play without Bush. Could not have said that last year.

Kacy Rogers is a really good safety. Rogers is not athletic enough or physical enough to be a every down safety. Rogers unique skill set is with his ability to allow you to line him up in man. He is able to cover man assignments very well.

I would prefer my starters to be Jenkins and Bush while mixing Rogers into my man and robber schemes

DB and RJ give us the most talent back there obviously

But aj and Rodgers have been nothing but steady so far to complain like others have about other parts of the team

They have done well up to now with what they have been put up against. None of our safeties have been tested deep on the hashes or have had to make many plays down field in coverage. All four of the teams we played were not good passing teams. I like Kacy in run support, but he can't tackle for **** when he arrives to the ball carrier. He looks good in man-to-man on the slot, which is where I think he makes his best contribution. AJ is smart and knows where to go, but is limited big time athletically. Thankfully he has not been exploited too much. A good pass rush has masked our safeties a lot too. I have been happy with Jenkins play so far. He has so much upside with how athletic he is. Deon just needs to knock off the rust. Jenkins/Bush combo is our best option if Bush is healthy, but Rogers can do some things for us too. AJ is smart, but a liability against better passing teams IMO

KC Rodgers and AJ Highsmith are better safeties at this point then the 2 starting safeties at FSU for perspective.....

but Deon Bush and Rayshawn Jenkins are the best safeties on the team.

I was critical of Ray Jenkins during Fall Camp but he has shown that he is physical in run support and is very good in coverage on a consistent basis.

Rodeo has stepped up his game thus far. Until Bush can get back to where he was. Rodgers will hold down the fort fine.

I want Rodgers and Jenkins to start since Bush is not 100%. Those two have earned the majority of the burn as well.

40 pages of how rodgers has stepped up

that ***** sucks, muffed a tackle that would have been for a lost

typical

Are we still confident that DB will be starting by the time the season is over? I'd hate to see his herniated groin turn into Derrick Rose's knee...

No hesitation.. Bush and jenkins all day.
I dont give a rat's *** if Bush is not 100%, hence, Bush at 60% is way better than these mofos. PLP.

These safeties aint doing ****.. with the exception of Jenkins.. Luckily, Rodgers hasnt been exposed again with his tackling technique thus far. Welll see against GT. I hope Bush gets better, because you can tell the difference when he is in there.. ***** blitzes and its a wrap-sure tackle.. None of this muffiling garbage.

lol ur obviously not paying attention

KC Rodgers and AJ Highsmith have been nothing but very good at tackling this year, been in great position to not get beat in coveragem and have made some quality plays between the two so what r u talking about?

Tito I do think they have stepped up, but I prefer Deon and Rayshawn who I see is more athletic and with more upside.

I'm the biggest cane fan it is but our two safeties are not better than terrance brooks fsu he will be a 2round pick at least lets not go over board and ramsey is a 5star freshman I believe deon and rayshawn are gonna be stick and boom but we really havent been tested yet lets hold on there rodgers I still have to see him against unc because nobody we've played outside of uf has gave us a real challenge

Getting a tackle or two is not considered a good player bra. They are doing what they are supposed to be doing (Being Div 1 players). When the competitions gets tougher, their weakness will show.. Trust me.. Lets avoid a problem early than fixing one later on!! I am glad they havent ****ed up, but its a matter of time. Rodger's sniffs at least one to two plays a game where in these boards, it goes unnoticed- Because we are in cruise control right now bra. This rodgers slurpie fest is sickening.

What are you thinking el great "TITO" btw? Ellaborate bra.

Jenkins still needs to take better angles in run support. He took a terrible angle on the TD run on USF's first possession. He is better in zone coverage than Rodgers but Rodgers is good at manning up with the slot plus lining up in the box to blitz or in run support. AJ you break out of the glass in emergency situations. The coaching staff has put them in the right positions and situations to succeed so far. Bush needs to be healthy for our game against GT, he takes the best angles on tackles (pre-injury) than any of our other safties and that is crazy important against the triple option.

They've played well...better than anyone on this board thought they were capable of. I say make the young guys keep chasing that #1 spot.
