Adoree Jackson, the Jim Thorpe Award Winner and absolute 1st round pick, Tweeted similar horse**** insinuating he may be back next season. Jackson is going to declare. That tweet means nothing; as does Kaaya's.
My hunch is that he's gone. You need to remember that an entirely different coaching staff recruited him to Miami. While that staff was hot garbage, the transition to a new staff is almost always difficult, unless you're blessed to play for an elite staff, which this is not (outside of Kuligowski), or one that caters to your style of play.
You listen to Richt's comments post VaTech and you can tell he wants to run an offense with a mobile quarterback. While I have no doubt Richt perceives Kaaya as the best option next season, a Perry-type QB is what he envisions as the best fit for his offense.
Kaaya doesn't fit that mold. He is positively the best QB UM has between himself, Sherrifs, Rosier, and Allison. But even as the year progressed and he improved, there is still a disconnect between what UM wants to run on offense and his abilities as a QB. I may be wrong, but this is my sense.
Truthfully, I have NEVER understood his hype as a good NFL player. In my mind, I see nothing exceptional about his game whatsoever. I still remember seeing Mock Drafts of him as the
#1 overall pick and completely shaking my head, prior to this season as well.
If he does leave, it's a blow to next season. Anyone who believes UM is better without him is a certified lunatic. That being said, he'll make the jump.
