Kaaya Lions

Scouting teams looked to see who led their teams to victory: the Frenchman or Brad Kaaya. It's rather simple: Kaaya's inability to close the deal in the FSU game lowered his draft stock dramatically.

Don't kid yourselves.

Do you think scouts saw the TD throw he made to Coley? And do you think scouts saw the missed PAT afterwards? If the PAT was good, and MIAMI wins in overtime, people are saying KAAYA threw a dime that beat fsu. I think scouts have more intellect than some fans. Don't kid yourself.

This is a kid who couldn't close the deal in the second half in two games against FSU. The point is to put your team into a position where a PAT shouldn't have to matter. Francoise was able to win that game for FSU, Kaaya was not. That's what they look for.

Look at Clemson vs. Bama, and you'll see why DeShaun Watson was drafted a lot higher than Kaaya.

No its not.

I feel bad for him. Everyone who watched actual Miami games said he'd be at best 5th or 6th rounder based on what he showed last year. He was well positioned though to take the team to the ACC championship game in 2017 just by being a caretaker qb, and would have easily played himself into the 3rd round at least (he was being talked about as a 1st round pick not too long ago!) He screwed himself and kinda screwed us because it would have been nice to let Perry RS.

Honestly? Because he's basically still a kid at 21 and needed some non biased adults to give him sound advice on the biggest decision of his life. He (and Yearby) didn't get it. Just a sad situation when you know that a good kid might have blown his biggest opportunity to make life changing money because of poor advice.

Ugh, no hes not.

He is 21. The adult human brain isn't fully developed until about age 25. So yes, still a kid, not just from a "life experience" standpoint but also a biological one. At that age a kid really needs to lean on people with more life experience to help him with this big a decision. A reasonable adult would have told him that the chances that a sixth round qb will make a 53 man roster are very remote and his best option would be to try to improve his draft stock next year. At the very least, if he isn't happy with the offensive play calling, then graduate early and start somewhere else as a grad transfer to showcase his skills. (Maybe play for Butch!)

Heard Adam beasley on 790 refer to his situation being "mishandled" by him and Richt, and that some sort of agreement should of been reached between the 2 as if there was a disagreement of some sort. Anyone have more insight on this?

Sounds like typical soFla media know-it-all who is attempting to make a mountain out of a molehill.....where do they find these jerks?

Honestly the Lions are a really good fit for him. He may be getting paid less but this is much better for his career than getting picked in the 3rd round by some ****** franchise like the Browns, Bills, or the Jets where he would be thrust into a pile of **** right away. Now he gets to sit behind Stafford for a few years and learn from an established NFL QB.

I always defended Kaaya based on his stats. Today I am at family's communion and i see a former UM basketball player who is still somewhat connected (we both went to UM). My cousin starts on Kaaya and this guy nonchalantly drops no one liked him on the team. I say no way, he is the best QB since Dorsey. He says everyone ****ted on him in NFL interviews.

Kid was best u had since Berlin. New coach wants more mobility. Wish him luck. Or just keep flipping your burgers

Anytime I can complement Dynasty's original concept with a two guy version cover for Golden and Kaaya, I'll take it.

He'll make the 52. He's got big league arm talent and is extremely bright and hardworking. If he had the line Dorsey had at Miami, he would've been a Heisman candidate. He just was set up to fail running an offense that he wasn't comfortable with behind a ****** line. Think Kaaya makes a nice living as a backup QB.

/was impressed with him on Gruden's show. You could tell he's not a fan of the RPO, which Gruden **** all over.

The honest truth of the matter is that Richt screwed the pooch running the offense he ran last year instead of running something Kaaya could run effectively. I'm still with the Richter but I hope he learned a lesson from that.

I saw a lot of the UM kids on Twitter calling teams crazy for passing on Kaaya the last couple days. Just based on that I'm guessing your gut is probably right.

All he has to do to make the 52 is to beat out Jake Rudock. He's got a **** good shot lol.

Exactly. Perfect spot for him.

He may still technically be a kid, but that's a silly argument. He's making the same decisions at the same age as all the other kids who play college football. If all the other guys in the draft were 27 I'd see your point, but that's not the case.

The honest truth of the matter is that Kaaya was hugely overrated and will not be missed.

Freshman year: 6-7
Sophomore year: 7-5
Junior year: 9-4

At Miami, you really can't do any worse as a QB. The NFL is a league of parity. Kaaya couldn't win the games against teams of equal or better talent. The NFL doesn't really need this type of player and neither do we.

I'm pretty sure there were other variables that affected our record.
It was a pleasure to watch Kaaya his first 2 years here. Richt ****ed him and the team with his play calling. Should have popped the coastal cherry last year.
