Justin Williams 2020 OL Offered (PWO)

All I know is he’s listed at 6’3 which means he’s probably 6’1 to 6’2 and from those highlights he is towering over his opponents. So he’s playing against 5’9 to 5’10 lineman. Not sure

Nobody thought Loftus or Johnson were anything but major projects. **** most people were surprised we even recruited Loftus let alone signed him.

Relatively speaking Mahoney was one of our better OL last year. Definitely would have started this year.

Coulda had Scaiffe outside from beginning, but yeah even if he didn't start would have been top 6 for sure. Don't understand these kids transferring like this.

WTF is Coach Barry doing, 2020 OL Justin Williams has a preferred walkon offer from San Diego State, yet Barry offers him a scholarship to Miami. Meanwhile your telling me there are no better Oline prospects in FL, GA, SC, NC, nor Louisiana GTFOH.

Coach Barry is proving to be a very good technician, but a underwhelming recruiter thus far. The south is littered with big ole country boy's that can move, the kale eating avocado mask wearing Cali boys haven't been working out at Miami in the last few years.

An what 2020 OG Chris Love sitting out there.

His tweet just says offer. Could be a preferred walkon offer. Could be an noncommitable offer.

That fact he mentions Pata not Barry means that this offer came over the phone because Pata isn’t allowed to recruit off campus.

If he visits then we’ll see how interested Miami is.

Write up from his weekend camp..

OL Justin Williams – There wasn’t a left tackle that had a better weekend than Williams, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound prospect from Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Tesoro. Williams was balanced in one-on-one battles, moving remarkably well to keep defenders in front of him and using his length to deny speed rushers off the edge.

Great, now let's go also set up a satellite tent in 4 areas of Wisconsin and recruit every 3-4 star OL who might not want to be a Badger.

UM

The issue with that is they started out emphasizing OL/DL EVERY cycle regardless of what numbers are at other spots, so they always hit on prospects. Now, they no longer have to do that because of reputation. Its the same way we were TE/DE for a long time up until recently. We have to play the numbers games until we are winning more, plain and simple. The real issue is regardless of coaching staff, our recruiting philosophy has never been aligned with play-calling on game day. Why have 12 WRs on roster if we are only going to run 12 personnel most of each game? Save those scholarships for lineman, if you ask me. We swing for the fences for 4/5* recruits without having much to sell them other than weather and beaches, ignoring the role player 3* overachievers and act surprised when we get left with what we get.

Right? I have been screaming for this staff to be more aggressive in Louisiana. There are A LOT of really good players that get passed on due to LSU's recruiting class reaching the maximum and they go on to mid-tier SEC or Big 12 schools and do well.

Also Sean Bergman
I don't think his name was Sean. Last name is right, though. He was a baseball player but did OL. His HS team was called the Drillers.....Bakersfield or someplace in central valley. Was his first name Robert?

I don't know that we've ever had a good OL from California--Bergman, Milo, that guy Erickson recruited from one of the suburbs...lasted a year.
