Just what does Paul Williams see in KC Rodgers?

You hit the nail on the head, Cash. I was tryna remember what game it was where Rodgers actually showed why we gave him a scholie! Buddy was playing pretty good in nickel spot. Maybe he is this years version of Chavez Grant. A guy who just has a special skill set for Nickel coverage. The problem is that guys like Crawford, Dortch and Burns are gonna be on his a$$ this year for the nickel job. Unfortunately, Rodgers has too many plays in his career that fans will never let him live down..Im willing to give him one more chance.

When are y'all gonna learn that this coaching staff actually develops players?

Y'all are talking like this because everyone is still conditioned to believe that players play the same for their entire careers, because that's what happened under Shannon and Coker. Well that's not how it's supposed to work. The coaches are supposed to get the players to be better as their career goes on and Golden has had enough reclamation projects at this point to put some faith in his development of players.

Kacy and AJ will both be serviceable this year, I presume.

To add to this point, we have already seen a decent number of seniors play by far their best seasons since Golden took over.

Plenty of talent left for dead that actually left here as contributors.

Man, i often dont call out on players etc,, But this cat is pretty bad. He is not a football player period. We can try to coach him with NFL coaches etc, but this still wont work bra. This kid is scare to hit and has no sense of awareness.Worst safety ever at the U getting some playing time., Hands down!

effort guy..just lacking physical skills. Too slow and stiff for corner and does not posses the ball skill and instincts required to play safety.

You act as if there aren't retards on every single Canes messageboard out there. Please. This place has a higher signal to noise ratio than any of the big ones.

Rodgers and AJ, if Golden's track record means anything, should be useful players this year. I'm glad to have some experienced depth, considering all the youngsters that will be playing in our secondary, because when injuries happen (and they WILL happen) we will be better prepared to handle it than most teams.

Rodgers played much better towards the end of 2012. Either you're too blinded by your hate to have noticed, or you simply don't watch the games.

On occasion. If you aren't willing to admit he is far too often a major liability back there, then you have your own bias. I never rule a kid out, unless he is just limited physically. KC has some great physical tools, so it's always possible he may turn the corner.

IMO, when a player is playing bad, or not up to par...the thing he's usually lacking is confidence (if talent isn't the issue). Coach is probably trying to build his KC's mind. Coach Paul W. is that type of guy. Cool, calm, collected, and knows how to train a kid mentality (mindfreak like Phil Jackson), I've met him before.

Transitioning from the CB position, into understanding whats required physically at the saftey position, sometimes it takes a while.

I beleive a kid can turn the corner. And KC has reason...his dad has NFL coaching experience, and im sure there's some motivation to turn things up during his SR year to reach the league. That's the goal of most SR's

After all, he didn't have anyone in front of him to lead by example. VT & Ray Ray missed tackles for fun. He now has guys to push him.

I think there's hope for KC, but Highsmith on the other hand, wouldn't be surprised if Fentress steals his playing time.

Good post. but KC making an NFL team is incomprehensible.

I hope he is one of those guys that the light comes on when they become a senior or whatever. I trust the coaches. But if he's still getting burnt after a game or 2 then Carter better be ready.

This pretty much.

Most fans don't know what they are watching. D'Onfrio only plays one defense, McGee sucked. DVD was a bad college CB. List coukd go on and on. Most these guys know nothing about football. Rodgers will be a valuable player for our team this year.

On TOS he was praising him

Can someone show me a single play or impact hes ever made?

Im not a db coach but ive seen KC ***** out of contact plenty of times not to mention him gettingburned alot

What gives?

Dammit can you undue an accidental like. This post is garbage

Question what the frick were you expecting a coach say about a player on his team?! I mean seriously do you expect him to talk crap about his own player?! GTFOH

If he's still a bum next year, no big deal. Jenkins and Bush got the safety position covered for the next couple years

With some things, he does well (tackling, coming up in run support). With other things, he doesn't (awareness, coverage). Just hope he it out there during the plays that he can handle. He is not an all-around Safety.
