just got back from Rose Bowl

Went to both the Pop Tarts and Rose bowl. The atmosphere today at the Rose Bowl was awesome - game wasn't great but the overall scene was top notch. Felt like a National Championship and have to say the Rose Bowl is the best for a game like this second only to the OB.

1. Jeramiah Smith - not even close best player on the field today - simply dominant. Might be one of the top 3 WRs I have ever seen in person in CFB - he would be a top 5 / top 10 player this year in the draft. Man against boys.

2. Dillon Gabriel - average talent, smart but a below average arm. That limited arm really hurt Oregon all night and he held onto the ball way way too long often and just can't make those downfield throws. We had a generational talent in Cam and blew it. I still can't get over being 1-3 last 4 games. A flat out joke.

3. Remember that kid Aydin Breland - kid didnt play but was rallying the team all night. And the fans too! They got some big boys coming up that UO defense.

4. One thing I noticed with both defenses is their CBs and Safety's did not play back as much as our guys. The DL didn't stunt - got pressure. LBs made tackles. OSU defense is legit good and both 33 Sawyer and 44 are flat out studs. Big time motors. I never understood why our CBs would be 10-12 yards off the WRs at the line and our safety's in Siberia?

5. Miami seemed lost most of the day on defense - remember when Barrow came out on the goalline only to run back in the play? We were so disorganized compared to these teams. Not even funny. I still don't understand how bad our defense was - just criminal. You didn't see that from either team - even though UO got beat a bit today.

6. I know we got the fake punt - but did anyone watch how bad our formation was and how we pretty much told Iowa State what we were doing? How do we not have a Special Teams Coach?

6. Mario has been neutralized. Money is all that matters and these programs are flush with it. Doesn't matter if he was a recruiting wizard that shipped sailed with NIL. Oregon and OSU are mini pro teams. The game is so different today. They also have so many walk-ons that look like football players. I have to say - many of our walk-ons like JAGs on a high school team. I recognize it's hard being a private school but you can really see the difference in the size and talent at the end of the bench.

7. We would have scored nonstop today on either team - but serioulsy our D might have given up 60 to OSU beause Jerimah and #2 could not be stopped.

Could rant more but I just don't get what is going on with Miami anymore. Yeah it's great to win 10 games, but this season hurt more than any since we got a NC stolen. We really had a world class offense that is just far suprior than anything i've seen in person or on TV this season and a defense that might be the worst I've seen ever at Miami and a special teams unit that is not special at all rather overlooked and undercoached.
We have a special teams coach and only CIS could someone complain about a 30+ yard SUCCESSFUL fake punt.

The Ohio St DL and LB room has NFL bodies

Our LB room, at least the ones that played, do not look like NFL athletes

Here we go with this again

They recruit bigger faster players every year

You think it was Andreu Swasey that made the 2000-2002 teams?

Let’s circle back to the Michigan game when OSU got whipped physically on both sides of the ball and see what people were saying

Did I miss this one? Did we have a chance with Downs once upon a time?

Yes they do. We only have 50 lb weights whereas the OSU guys have 75 lbers so they get much stronger than we do.

funny, after the Florida game we had people (Pate, saban) hyping us that we looked SEC in terms of bodies.

Rose Bowl was a great atmosphere. total cluster **** getting in and around the area. Having been to a number of stadiums this season with bench seating, I’ve come to appreciate the pro stadium amenities.

on tv OU defense was a mess stop trying to sell us they were on point. also Gabriel was underpressue all night, the OSU DL dominated them.

The execution on that play was great and I think we got lucky to be honest. However, if you go up against great teams and watch the film - Miami was clearly showing a fake. The center was slanted, everything on that play screamed fake. A fake is best when you don't literally tell the team what you are doing. I was happy we got it but the truth is the other team made a mistake on that play with our team showing our hand.

Please tell me who is our Special Teams Coach? WE DON'T HAVE ONE. Maybe at practice we have someone work with them but on the Field we don't have one. If you are a long-time fan like I am, you would remember how good our special teams were. These are horrible from kickoff coverage to punt returns. We are nothing like what we used to be. It's sad. We don't execute well and we have no dynamic player in the back who is like Hester, Daryl Jones, Roscoe Parris, just to name a few.

Yes the OU defense wasn't great nor did I ever say that? Did you go to both games and see from the slidelines how disorganized Miami was compared to Oregon? I was behind Miami's bench and I was literally behind Oregon's bench in the 5th row. I could see it all. DUH Gabriel was under pressure all night. OSU has a great DL and they played awesome - 33 and 44 were great. Not to mention Gabriel just doesn't have the arm strenght to make all the throws and given that the offense is limited. Oregon couldn't move offensively and I think they might have had their only first down at the end of the 1st quarter or sometime in the 2nd.

But the other thing and it was more glaring was how disorganized Miami on the defense of side was - it was like they were always looking at the sideline and running back and forth without getting set. Our secondary was never set, far off the ball, etc. Hey I'm not a coach but it's hard not recognize glaring issues. Do you not remember when in the 4th Quarter I believe Iowa State was on the goal line and literaly the team was clueless on what personell should be in - Barrow ran off the field, they had 10 people and then ran back on. This is only a microcosm of just our phone defense.

I agree that our punt and KO returns have been underwhelming but NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TYPE IN CAPS, we do in fact have a special teams coordinator.

It's a lost opportunity every game and we won't be able to afford not to address it for next season. Every point may be precious....

He literally entered the portal with a no contact tag and committed to OSU 5 minutes after entering the portal.

This narrative that we "missed" on certain players simply b/c we didn't offer enough money is clown-town ****.

They literally said he talked to Knowles for 3 hours about his scheme before committing. And he got paid well. Trust.

Point #6: Since you were at the game, you didn't hear the announcers talk about what Mario told them "Yeah, I was Oregon with Phil Knight and unlimited NIL, but I wanted to come back to my old team and make them a contender again" or something to that effect.

Yes, Martyr Mario relaying why we should kiss his feet and be thankful of what he left behind...Gosh, what a sanctimonious POS he can be while losing his last 3 of 4.
