Julian Armella

How exactly did he benefit from going to Deerfield Beach?
  • The team he left went 15-0 and won a state championship
  • The team he went to lost in the same playoff round that it did the year before
  • He left ostensibly to graduate early and get a head start on his college career but COVID-19 cancelled spring practice and all summer activities which contributed to his invisible freshman year
He objectively got zero benefit from going to Deerfield Beach.
He was able to be featured at several positions including qb.
He showed he was able to still be a player despite having to switch schools and learned a new playbook and establish relationships with his teammates and helped recruit one of the best backs in the state. He made UM better by helping get rooster and by default helped himself.
It likely made him more of a commodity that he had the cojones to do it and still be successful.
And who tf saw covid coming anyway.

Armella is at LSU on an OV this weekend. Both parents went with him. He is being hosted by Marlon Martinez and Dumervil. The new OL coach is already on campus and the belief is he needs to really hit it out of the park with Armella for LSU to be serious contenders at the end.

Interesting to read what other fans think of their chances with some of these guys...

Transfer portal sophomore year. 3 of those schools have questions at HC. Not saying we're perfect but dam judgement is questionable. I guess that's always been him tho.

I'm not sweating any kid not wanting to be a Cane. Mario’s going to knock recruiting out of the park in which kids will start to get turned away because there just isn't enough room.

Mario has said it many times. If you listen, he tells you exactly what he's about. It's talent acquisition and development. He's learned from Saban and that's the blueprint. Recruiting will improve every year. I expect Mario will get us into top 20 for the 2022 class, then top 10-15 for 2023. Once we win an ACC title and make the CFP, game over!!! Top 5 classes will become the norm.
