This could really hurt HS recruiting... Not completely but significantly. Especially for kids that are 3*s and lower.

Why take a chance on a 17 year old kid out of HS when you can take a chance on a 21 year old kid that's been out of HS for 4 years? Just maturity and body development wise, it's a much smaller risk.

There will be a lot more 22-25 year old kids playing college football now as well.

This, along with NIL, will turn CFB into even more of a minor league.

I'm really curious to see how this plays out but with the transfer portal and NIL, if I'm Mario, I'm gonna stack half my class next year with JUCO kids rather than 3* HS kids.

So, how many years these guys want for eligibility? 5 or 6?

I'd imagine next lawsuit will be Redshirt year.

Guess give everyone 5 years..

There's been quite a few coaches and other admin types who have already spoken out for the blanket 5 year eligibility. So, probably not far away?

This seems like it’s headed in the direction of CFB teams taking private investments. There are only so many NFL teams to buy. Lots of millionaires that can’t afford those are going to see to it that they get their own playground in college. Old man Cams 8 years in college will be a norm one day.

A lot of players coming up 2, 3, 4 years behind the Covid season of 2020 have gotten squeezed out of PT and even scholarships by these 6th- and 7th-year vets who've managed to keep milking another year of eligibility.

Law of unintended consequences -- and particularly unfortunate since the post-Covid recruits didn't get a bonus year of high school eligibility to match the guys in college. So they're getting the short end of the stick twice.
