Do you think Sean Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame? That’s amazing…for 3-4 years.
One of the biggest what ifs. People think Priest Holmes should be in…but 3 great years and one good year. Then an injury cut short his peak.
I know you need bodies to have Hall of Fames I just think some years they should say pass if they have too. Maybe honor a team if you want to have a weekend and make some money for the locations
on this board it will be a hated take but no. He shouldnt. Sadly he was just entering his prime. The same way Jerome Brown was.Do you think Sean Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame?
This could be saying two very different things. Could be saying Marshall is broke. Or it could be saying he has a lot of money invested and isn't stupidly letting a large amount of money just sit in a checking account....
And I think it is subjective. Generational to me is such a huge term... the Barry Sanders of the world where in 20+ years kids who never saw him play live are still talking about him. You can also be generational in college and not in the pros. I think Reggie Bush and Ron Dayne were generational for college but both had pretty pedestrian NFL careers.Jeremiah Smith looked like a generational type player to me in his freshman year. Obviously he has to keep doing it but he was about as good as it gets as a freshman.
Yeah I pretty much agree. I consider JJ to have had a generational type of true freshman year considering what he did and where. It takes more than 1 season in college though like you’re saying. And I think it is subjective. To me, when it comes to generational for wide receivers I would say Jerry Rice and Randy Moss. The latter put up then unheard of numbers for a rookie back in 1999.And I think it is subjective. For running backs I would say (going from mid 80s onward): Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson.

Smith did it on an Nc title team. Moss was doing it at a mid major.Same with my list. JSmith is great but Moss was on a different level as a freshman at Marshall. Still to this day the most dominant WR in college I've ever seen. RBush was a video game while he was at USC and of course, Barry OSU is goat.
Really no comparison. Didn't Moss have to sit out his first year because of the HS fight then was suspended his second year at FSU for weed and kicked off the team? So saying Moss freshman year at marshall is a bit misleading since he was technically going into his 3rd year removed from school. He was grown. JSmith in a few years will likely be even better barring injury and as you mentioned big difference and hard to compare OSU comp vs Marshall. Moss had something crazy like 28 tds and 1700 yrds. That is silly to do against anyone, let alone when the passing attacks are not what they are today.Smith did it on an Nc title team. Moss was doing it at a mid major.

Smith is the greatest ever on this board until i speak well of him lolNo real person would compare Smith to Moss. I'm convinced @nycane is an AI bot.
He is a great WR. It's ok to leave it there without losing credibility.Smith is the greatest ever on this board until i speak well of him lol
My only issue with smith was prior to ND game he was stat padded agsinst wesker teams and didnt really make plays in 2nd half of games.
End of day they are different type of wr’s.
According to his Wikipedia page, he signed his LOI with ND, but he transferred to FSU and had to redshirt his Freshman year (1995). Then, he played with Marshall in 1996 and 1997. In 96, Marshall was still in the FCSReally no comparison.
