Joyner (ESPN) thinks Miami is ACC sleeper team

Porter, Pierre, and Robinson actually make a pretty formidable front. Now we just need to get lucky and have them all play meaningful snaps. The trickle down effect will be huge.

as soon as the goon fans on here realize its a TEAM sport teh better off we all are....

yes you need a pass rush..we had none
We need linebackers that can hit and tackle without YAC etc...we had two and one played suspended and hurt
we needed DBs that could play read defenses and play the run etc...we sucked there too..

by week 9 players were getting it...the USF game they dominated a decent team

So the team that forfeited their conference championship appearance is his sleeper?

Way to go out on a limb

We might have won the Coastal if we didnt forfeit (UNC can say the same thing), but whomever won the Coastal last year was considered a heavy underdog to both FSU and Clemson and most would probably think the same this year. So yes, I think it's fair to say we are a sleeper in most peoples' eyes.

Holy ****. I'm so Shancokerized, it's not the least bit amusing.

All this pub about us being a sleeper team and one to watch has me quaking in my short pants.

I'm so ashamed.

We went 6-6 in 2011 with a more veteran team... in 2012 we went 7-5 and could have went 9-3 with a very young and inexperienced team... I just felt we could have beaten UNC and UVA... I think AG will have us back here shortly... I predict a BCS bowl game this year and contending for a NC next year...

Given the situation on the DL (it's bleak), perhaps Luther should become a starter at DE along with Chick.

Questions about the DL most relating to development....

1. Can Porter stay healthy? It is clear as day that when Porter is healthy there is a drastic improvement in the DL play. He is by far the best DT but that doesn't mean much.

2. Can Robinson play quality time at DT? This is an unknown. He is a 5th year player, he is strong as an ox (according to reports) but can he quit being a DIVA and provide quality burn.

3. Is Pierre ready to take the next step? We have watched flashes of good play now we need consistency. This is year 3 in the program, this is when DLineman should be physically developed to contribute.

4. Who else can play? Moore would be the next guess. I don't think people should expect much out a true freshman and not much more as a sophomore but we're going to need someone to back up the above 3 people. Freshman should not be on the line...sophomores?

5. DE? What is going on out there? Green can't be counted on for much other than bad joints. Chick, year 3. Can he contribute and live up to the name. Hamilton? Are you healthy? Who else?

Basically what is above, it is a scary position right now. I have a feeling that the Bond (if he gets in) and McCord experiment at LB may be short lived.

I have a feeling you could be right. Especially if AQM and Kamalu don't end up here.

Again, even if AQM makes it here, how much are you counting on a True Freshman to contribute serious burn or a decent pass rush? This kid looks to have the goods but....he still is a true freshman that didn't EE.

Kamalu, not sure what to expect (if he gets in) but I kind of want him to redshirt and play DT.

Huh, if he already redshirted he has 3 to play 2.

As for AQM, he likely will play but how much expectations do you have for a true freshman who didn't EE.

If Kamalu redshirted in JC, then he has 3 to play 3. Starts off with 5 to play 4, redshirt a year to make 4 to play 4, then played this past year making it 3 to play 3.

But again, I'm in the dark on whether or not he redshirted. Just saying it is possible he redshirted and can be here 3 years like Gunter.
