They're not really the same position though.
Carter is DEFINITELY an in the box Safety.
Smith has the speed, but coming out of HS most people also looked at him as more of a box guy, but he can do both.
Jobe will be primarily a coverage FS. Plus Jobe is just that talented he could beat out the guys in front of him.

Either way Guys like Jobe and Campbell WILL earn PT.

I said that because Redwine will still be here and Johnson most likely so i don't think it's just automatic that any of the safeties coming will be in the two deep as a freshman with smith and carter backing up the other two starters at safety.. now if we're talking about cb i think at least one of them will be in the two deep but even then we have Jackson Young Bandy and Dean returning as the first 4 that's definitely an uphill battle for these freshmen

I mean I don't really care if they're in the "2 deep" technically. They're going to get their share of PT, whether they're listed as 2nd string or 3rd string, same way our 3rd string DL get Pt.

Jobe has a higher ceiling than the two of them. He could start to snag some snaps from either of them. Depends on how quick he picks up on the defense.
