We hooked and lost one black. Fishing for Marlin- blue/black/white/striped is typically better coming up to the full moon pretty much no matter where you are in the world.

Time of year just depends on region and location and species. A lot of the best fisheries in the world are red hot for 1-3 months and the fish are not there otherwise. Nova Scotia for Giant Bluefins August-early October. St. Thomas for blue Marlin June-September. Sailfish in Isla Mujeres in January, etc.

There were some tunas around-bait size and big yellowfins. But the pacific is being ravaged by commercial fleets-particularly Chinese and other Asian longliners. They’re even turning off their AIS (tracking system) and ******* up the Galapagos (extremely illegal). It’s a giant problem.

Went to Nova Scotia to work two seasons ago and the week before I got there a Japanese longliner was seized off of the coast with 80 Bluefin tunas already in the hold (55,000 pounds on the low side). A Japanese longliner. Off of eastern Canada. It’s jungle rules in international waters.
thanks for the details. as an avid fisherman i appreciate it.

i've fished in Chub a few times and we always did better with the rising full moon, but you have to fish when you can sometimes, not when you want to.

i fished in the galapagos in september while i was on a cruise there. we caught two striped marlin.

i am familiar with the the Chinese are doing in Galapagos, Southern Cone and all over the world. sink them if they turn off their AIS.

I wish it was that easy. We are stuck with Mario for at. least. another 4-5 years if not the full 7. Also, we finally got the admin to go all in and it took a ton of work to get them to do that, a colossal failure here means they could easily pull back to old habits. The fate of this program is in Mario's hands, we need to pray he pulls through. He doesnt have to win a chip here but he needs to win the conference at least once or twice.
This is a scary thought.

I get what you're saying, but pouring that much money into a football facility says they're in it for the long haul.

Anybody know how long Arroyo's contract with UNLV was? How many years were left?

Maybe Mario does bring in Arroyo. As an analyst (if he's collecting buyout money)

No way in **** Mario is here longer than 2024 if results don’t drastically improve. I know what is invested and what is owed. But I won’t believe it.

The pressure from the fanbase would be too much to overcome. Also have to take into account that Radakovich did not hire Mario, he was hand picked to bring a championship to Gables. I believe he will make it happen, with or without Rio.

My boy we could go 5-7 for the next 2 seasons and Coach Cristobal would be our coach in 2025. Ya’ll might as well squash that noise.

seriously this. were still a broke boy program who ONLY started to spend money bc the big boosters got behind their man. their man will have PLENTY of time to get this thing right and tbh, every coach should get 4 years in college unless theyre pathetic. you should be able to see a recruiting class through its cycle.

i kind of believe this will be the case in the end if mario doesnt change his mindset. hes an elite recruiter who will leave the program in a MUCH better place than before. that will help a true X and O guy to take over and take us over the top. it doesnt mean thats what will happen because we have seen guys w no coordinating exp win (Dabo), but they are few and far between (before anyone says Kirby and Saban - both were DCs for multiple seasons).
Mario took advantage of Miami, let’s call a spade a spade - hands were tied and Sexton knew it.

This won’t be the case ever again. Miami WILL be a destination job every time it opens.

I’m just sharing that one of the QB gurus is pushing out negative perception on Mario, which is somewhat valid

I've rode this rollercoaster before and refuse to believe that Mario is going to nail this hire. It'll end up being someone like Arroyo who should be an improvement over Gattis, but won't be anything more than average. But, after last year even moderately average is an upgrade.

he def didnt give miami a discount. i believe some insiders even said it that mario wasnt taking a discount after he got passed over for manny

I refuse to believe that. I know many of y’all think that, I disagree. Miami didn’t make Radakovich the highest paid AD in America to watch the football team struggle. Regardless of what is said and reported right now… that will change if worst case scenario (.500 ball first three years) becomes reality.

Think about Richt, he was one year removed from best season by the canes in 15 years.

Had just received a 5 year extension and was basically forced to retire or fire his son and friends… **** can change quickly. Don’t go off info coming out today. It’s easy to assume when no one expects the worst case scenario to become reality.

For better or for worse, Mario is here till 2025 at the least. They're going to be patient with him and they should. The entire program from top to bottom needed to be reset and that's what he's attempting to do.
It's for the better. This program had become a joke. It was CALLED OUT ON NATIONAL TELEVISION for how poorly it was run from the top down.

Mario came in and got to work. He's whiffed on some things no doubt but thats because there were so many problems. The culture and lack of talent at the top of that list.

Give the man three years before you begin to judge him and the program. IF he can recruit at this level again next year we'll be in a good place. Thats a big IF to me if the O under performs again. So he needs to get this hire right. At the point when Gattis is fired doesn't matter. It's who he hires that does.

Who is stating that Arroyo is positioned to be Miami’s next OC? I haven’t seen that anyone other than pure speculation
Exactly. Some random person makes a comment along the lines of "I hope he doesnt hire Arroyo but I bet that's what Mario will do" and it turns into people claiming there are rumors that Mario is going to hire Arroyo.

Facts. Miami is dedicated on winning. They literally paid Radakovich a kings ransom to make sure we WIN football games. No way he sits around for 4/5 years watching Mario waste timeouts in the 1st quarter. There would be changes after year 3.
