Where did you get he was coming back from all of that?So he's coming back. That's messy and will only hurt the Team

UM's attorneys aren't that sharp TBH. Golden lost because his attorney was worse. the language of the amendment addressing his severance was written buy a Pre Med major at Florida Assistant School for the Disabled. There’s almost certainly language in the contract about a duty to mitigate damages. Fire him and let him sue. If he wants to go to war with our attorneys so be it. He ain’t built for that fight. Ask Al Golden.
i've seen a few of CFB contracts and many don't have a duty to mitigate and florida doesn't impose one either. There’s almost certainly language in the contract about a duty to mitigate damages. with a healthy oline it seemed we were able to move the ball. The Texas AM game was evidence that the offense was effective. There were some mistakes made, dropped balls, etc. at key moments that cost us.
I recall the concern I had at the time was the inability of the offense to score touchdowns in the red zone. It seemed we could sustain drives between the 20's but would then stall. So at first it was really a red zone offense issue. Then once the injuries started to pile up the entire offense sputtered. So I would not blame Gattis entirely for that.
However, knowing what he had he never really adjusted and put our guys in position to be successful. The play calling seemed disconnected and there was just a general lack of any creativity to overcome some of the deficiencies. That is where I do blame him. He lacked a total feel for the game. With a stout oline that could mask bad playcalling if he could just pound the rock and get yards that way. Then that would open up the play action game. But that never really materialized but their were glimpses of it the first few games. In all, it was just a very boring, plodding kind of offense that worked if we could run consistently.. Once teams shut that down they could tee off on our qbs.
It's a good reminder that, while the money flowing into the football program has increased dramatically, it's not a blank check. If it were, and the buyout was the only issue, he'd be gone already.Sucks but he’s got every right to do this. Just pay him the money.
I trust the person who said it was a buyout issue. How or why I have no idea.
That seems insane. I’d never work again then if I was one of those coaches.i've seen a few of CFB contracts and many don't have a duty to mitigate and florida doesn't impose one either.
I guess I just misunderstood his commentI'm giving you final chance to stop being like this before I restart insulting you again.
I just texted my guy again in regards to the influx of $$$ we have, and why the buyout couldn't be resolved, and he responded with, "We're paying part of the Michigan salary as well"
Not sure, but supposedly we're also paying part of his Michigan salary as well.Firstly, thanks for the insight. Secondly, my question is does your source couch it as a "buyout issue" that means just an administrative issue that will be worked out and is temporarily holding up the process or a "buyout issue" that means he more than likely stays...?
Where u are wrong is “ Ponce being fired “ the move had nothing to do with his job or football. It was a personal matter. Mario didn’t fire him.Mario sure has a weird way of doing things then. Ponce spent the last 6 weeks recruiting for Miami as if everything was good despite being fired. I'm guessing he never really officially fires people, he tells you to go find another job and then let's the coaches spin it likely their leaving Miami for a new job and it's business as usual until they find a job.
Now that I think about it, I remember the contract for the Arkansas State game was released publicly and was like a 3 page form that a middle schooler put together.UM's attorneys aren't that sharp TBH. Golden lost because his attorney was worse. the language of the amendment addressing his severance was written buy a Pre Med major at Florida Assistant School for the Disabled.
Fair. Can’t assume anything without reading the contract but a “grey area” is a very pro-Miami outlook on the situation with what is usually guaranteed money. My guy described it as a grey area.
It’s hard to say that Gattis has a right to anything without seeing the contract and the exact wording
I just texted my guy again in regards to the influx of $$$ we have, and why the buyout couldn't be resolved, and he responded with, "We're paying part of the Michigan salary as well"
that would make sense since we "stole" him from michigan.I just texted my guy again in regards to the influx of $$$ we have, and why the buyout couldn't be resolved, and he responded with, "We're paying part of the Michigan salary as well"
I misread the comment. I thought he was implying that Gattis would threaten to sit out and essentially force Miami to bring him back. Regardless I'm pretty much done talking about Gattis. It's been 7 weeks of the same conversations over and over againWhere did you get he was coming back from all of that?
Cribby said Mario did and he's usually pretty spot onWhere u are wrong is “ Ponce being fired “ the move had nothing to do with his job or football. It was a personal matter. Mario didn’t fire him.
if there is a hang up regarding the buy out, then he isn't coming back since his termination is openly on the table and it is only a question of $$$$$$$, which generally tends to be negotiated and resolved.Sounds like this ************ is back for another year.
Just another hurdle.I misread the comment. I thought he was implying that Gattis would threaten to sit out and essentially force Miami to bring him back. Regardless I'm pretty much done talking about Gattis. It's been 7 weeks of the same conversations over and over again
