I agree but its a weak look not being able to fire a dude
I’m worried that he doesn’t think Gattis was at fault

I don’t think Mario hasn’t fired him bc he doesn’t like firing people I think it’s a way bigger issue than that.

I think he’s worried that if he fires Gattis, JG says to anyone who will listen, “I couldn’t work with Mario he insisted we try things that didn’t match the players while I argued against it and now he fired me after one year.” Mario already has a reputation for being too hands on and holding the offense back.

An OC might not want to come if they feel Mario will prevent them from being successful since we still don’t have the pieces to make his “we’re just bigger stronger faster than you” approach work yet.

Then he’ll fire you to save face and set you back years even if you just won the Broyles award.

That's been my biggest concern. Gattis is the biggest “blamer” in the sport (blames Michigan for not making him HC in the corny text to former players, blames talent and injuries for pitiful performance, throws TVD under the bus to ESPN reporter and calls him a bad leader basically). Mario knows it’ll be challenging to find someone else imo

He might still be looking and he’ll fire Gattis if he finds someone better or if Gattis stops performing his recruiting duties, but I don’t think Mario wants to deal w the rep hit Gattis will throw at him in his attempt to save face after being canned

Bama and Clemson changed coordinators within the last 24 hours, are we that behind or is the board that impatient?
This! I expect our coaching search to look similar to Bama and Clemson. Gattis will be fired/got a new gig and within days Mario has next man lined up.

So what you're saying is that I've been tracking private jets from LA and Orange County (just to be safe) to Miami for nuthin?!!!

This program will never cease wasting my time and disappointing me.

On a different note, why did my cousin's barber's girlfriend (an agent with Re/Max in Kendall) just show Matt Canada a condo in Snapper Creek?
Snapper Creek? I thought that was one of Miami’s famously notorious strip clubs, err….brothels….

Who would want Bill O’Brien? I know it’s leftovers from Bama but he’s a pretty good OC. Was good with offense with Texans too just not HC lol

Will anyone listen to Gattis? Hadn’t he hurt his rep leaving Michigan the way he did? And at Miami?

TVD and Garcia both stayed.
Gattis does not appear to be particularly involved in recruiting.
Every insider has said he’s out.

Apart from the fact he’s still apparently employed there’s also been virtually no sign that anyone is content with him.
But Ponce is still out recruiting. The what happens is Gattis leaves and Ponce is elevated that’s just much of a fail. Can’t imagine we’d bring in another OC/WR coach and keep Ponce as qb coach.
