Joseph Jackson and Jonathan Garvin

I like Garvin. Just me, but I don't see Jackson, though.

You don't see his HL video or you don't see what everyone else in the country now sees??

I meant that while I like Garvin, I don't see him as being another Jackson with regards to prospects coming out of high school. Just from the film, he doesn't have the same "pop" that Jackson had. Doesn't mean I'm not high on Garvin, but just that I'm not as high on him as I was on Jackson.

Garvin should redshirt and i think he will. There is 6 older guys at DE and no need to waste a year unless he shows he is better than the other guys.

Anyone think they'll move Chad inside? I believe he'd be better there because he doesn't have elite burst or power to throw OLinemen aside. He could easily put on more weight and would be more of a challenge inside where his quickness and increased strength would be more of a factor.

I think Jackson's twitch sticks out because he just looks bigger in his tape, he looks like a legit DE in it. Looks bigger than listed. In the meantime Garvin looks smaller, but because of that looks more flexible and a better pass rusher. I see Joe Jackson as a true traditional 4-3 DE while Garvin is more in the mold of a Shane Ray, Vic Beasley etc...

I checked Garvin against some current top Florida lists and am pretty blown away as to how low they have them. Either they haven't accounted for his monstrous senior year, or they need to fire their personnel. How is he NOT a top 20 guy in the state?

100%. An 18-sack season at the 8A level in S. Florida with those measurable? I just don't get how this kid isn't a 5-star and invited to every all-star game in the country.

Wasn't pursued by Alabaga. Had they pursued he'd be a 5 star and the hottest DE recruit in the country.

This dude legit had 25 sacks if we include the preseason game where he couldn't be blocked.

Kool is going to destroy college football with the dudes he's got.

Jackson was 2 years older at the same stage. He should be bigger. Best info Pete had in the OP was that Garvin is 17. He's going to be 6'5 and 260 by the time he's a sophomore and just murdering people.

With Kool on staff, it doesnt matter how "raw" a DL is. if they are extremely talented but their technique is bad, idgaf I am confident that Kool will be able to develop him. Get as many athletic freaks as we can along the DL and let Kool do his thing.

One can only hope Garvin plays like Jackson. Jackson as of now has the potential to be special. I like that some feel Garvin has some of the same skill set. Thats a big deal.

With how young he is and our depth at Dline hopefully we can redshirt him cant imagine what a whole year of our strength and conditioning would add to his frame. If DJ Johnson wasnt coming here noway would we be able to keep him off the field. This is exciting!!

Our pass rushers in 2018 are going to be elite. Joe Jackson, Demtrius Jackson, Garvin, Deonte Johnson and Patchan if he can stay healthy. We haven't had two great pass rushers on the field at once in a very long time and our best one this year was a true freshman. It's going to be a nasty front 7 if we can find some stud DT's for 2018.

Did you not see him struggle when golden used him mostly inside? Chad is also a sde which you dont need elite burst to play.
