Both Ewald and Gilbert got projected to Georgia by there 247 guy. He (Ben Wolk) isn’t tied into the program as Rusty Mansell (On3) but he isn’t blostein either.

Edit- kind of shocked that a coaching staff that has DB guys like TRob, Donte Williams, and Kirby Smart would sign 3 guys (Ewald, Gilbert, and Morgan) that have really slow track times.

Missing on ewald isn't end of the world but would definitely increase the pressure to land other db targets

Not necessarily.

UGA doesn't really place an emphasis on Speed ahletes at DB, they mostly recruit big physical Corners that can tackle & who will hold the WR's between the hashes within the 15yd zone. They don't really worry about raw Speed, they care more about physicality than anything.

It's why whenever they face teams who actually spread'em out & throw deep, they have a tougher time, than when they play teams who play right into their hands & just run the ball into the teeth of their Mammoth DT's.

Honestly I don’t mind losing Ewald. His 11.6 100 is giving me Ricky Knight vibes. Kirby knows more about DBs than I ever will and maybe I am scarred from watching CBs here getting repeatedly burned for the better part of 20+ years.

I hear you. And even if he chooses Uga now MC will keep pushing if he really wants him. Just get any 2/3 of Pickett, Hanks, Antoine to go along with Merritt and its the best CB haul we've had in a very long time.

They been struggling at DB so probably moving to guys lower on the list. Kinda crazy when you consider they have Kirby, TRob and Donte Williams all coaching/recruiting that position.

Hopefully this means they lost traction with Hanks and its just us vs the gator.
