It’s less of a bias against Miami and more of a commentator problem in general

They want to call an upset, so it’s natural for them to want the game to be close and/or see the underdog win

We’re used to sucking so this is unusual for us

I think it’s also natural for the play by play ppl to slightly lean toward the home team because of the research / time spent with coaches and players that week

Jordan Rodgers is just an SEC homer. His main job is with the SEC Network and he played at Vandy. In 2019, those guys were all about the high-powered SEC offenses because of LSU and Joe Burrow. The years that SEC has better defenses, they are all about those mighty SEC defensive battles. It’s all about the corporate narrative.

In college/wrestling broadcasting for good probably, but then again Keith Jackson carved a niche with that; well, not the wrestling part.

I gave up on the broadcasters as soon as they said, in the first quarter second drive I believe that UL did a good job defensively pushing Miami back when in fact we had an OPI and motion penalty to kill the drive

Somehow I tolerated Tessitore's over-the-top style for several years without giving it much thought. After reading this thread, couldn't stop being annoyed when re-watching the game. Thanks a lot.
