You know we were 52nd in the country in total passing defense, right? I thought our secondary (besides Jaquan Johnson) was pretty pedestrian this year. If Jackson, Redwine and Young don't make drastic improvements this offseason, I wouldn't be surprised if their spots are taken by the freshmen. That's why I'm ok if we grab 5-6 DB's this cycle because we can use the 2-3 best right away.

We didn’t cover anyone for large portions of this season. Not so sure where all this legendary DB coaching/play was this year.

It's funny how people would complain about every QB's legendary performance against us, and now we're praising our secondary to the point that we don't need elite talent here. I'm done seeing a 3rd string QB at UNC tearing up our secondary and done seeing us get ***-raped against an elite team. If we want to be elite, we need elite talent. Right now, we don't have that in the secondary.

And even that number is smoke and mirrors. Look how easy our schedule was, how many freshman QBs we faced, predominant running teams we played. The crowning jewel of the secondary was against Syracuse who finished with a 4-8 record but hey they got lucky against Clemson. We have subpar talent along the secondary right now, it nowhere near elite, not even good, on a good day is serviceable. Our front 7 carried the defense. The second there was any QB that could complete a forward pass, they would look like Tom Brady, til Diaz would adjust and bring enough pressure to create TOs.

So if that's his "adjustment" then I wanna know why we don't see more nickel package early in games?

Diaz gets too much credit. Our secondary is easily good enough to stop UVA, Pitt, etc.

I personally feel coach Kool and his ability to produce productive DLs makes this system go. Manny comes out to soft coverage and far away from the LOS **** near every game. We need to play tighter at the LOS So scared of getting beat deep on some Mark D'onofrio ****.

Go watch that Clemson game on defense so much **** zone to start the game. Zero blend of zone, man, and blitzes. Also our alignment gave our coverage away **** next every play in the first half. I wish Manny would fix some of the alignment in this scheme. It trash.

I know we get on Radio for his simplified scheme but Manny seriously needs to just let guys play and simplified his scheme. He overdoes it to much.

One thing I would love to hear from Manny next spring is that he simplified the scheme so guys can play more faster.
