Kid has real class, obviously receiving the proper parental guidance at home. I don't mind you decommitting, it happens. Just don't be disrespectful to a team and coaching staff you are supposedly "committed" to and have been for a long time.
To me honestly, he doesn't even have to do that. It's part of the game. The part that comes off as douchery to me is the fact that the staff is working with his parents and the academy he's at to make sure he has the grades and requisite course work to get into Miami. That's my problem in all of this.
I don't know where the reports of academic deficiencies come from, or if they are accurate, but, assuming they are accurate, perhaps he isn't on track to enroll in UM, and he's taking the path of least resistance.
