I thought the key insight was his view that he'd not let the threat of the transfer portal keep him from being strict with the players. Emphasized need for toughness and discipline, not making mistakes...Cited Belichick as Exhibit A.

True, but looking back at interviews about other Miami Coaches over the years.........Jimmy does not ruffle feathers.
He likes it smooth, because he knows what they are up against to bring home those wins.... but you can tell, by the sound of his voice, how proud he was to be part of Mario's College football like......

Jimmy will always be revered by Miami but he lost 2 games that could have resulted in 2 more nattys.

I definitely blame him for the PSU game. He needed to run the ball until PSU started bringing down their linebackers to stop the run and that would have opened the passing game. Against Notre Dame, the only real mistake he made is the fake punt. The defense had settled down. That short field resulted in their only td in the second half for Notre Dame. Too many turnovers and a terrible call by the refs cost us that game.

Jimmy’s also pro-Miami. He won’t, professionally, trash the HCs and the program he love.

Privately, in limited company, he might have choice words for what he sees.

Disgusting to GIVE that game away….all he had to do was run high smith and warren Williams

He made it way more difficult than it needed to be

They play that game 100 times. Miami wins 99 of them by double digits

People don't realize how we were destroying that Pedo state team....
Such a trash team that we had to beat ourselves with 7 turnovers..and still should have won
