I'd rather them lose to Louisville and Clemson than to an OOC opponent like Alabama. Surprised that the merit of beating that team isn't crystal clear to everyone. Particularly if we beat FSU and they beat Bama and they we end up tied with Bama for a playoff spot, we'd have the win over the common opponent. Could work in our favor if they lose close to Bama and we win by 2 scores.
In any case, either FSU or Bama will lose that night.
It sounds good either way.
But the reality is this conference hype thing. The ACC was deemed the best conference in the nation last year. An FSU win will keep that perception rolling. I never was a big conference rooter, but it has worked well for the SEC for some time. How many times have we heard that "the SEC champ is in...even with one loss"?
Another strong year for the conference, starting with this game, can only be a positive for us.
