2026 Jermaine Kinsler 4* DE from Bergen Catholic, NJ Commits to Texas A&M

Never earns any significant PT in 4 years? It’s abso-******-lutely a miss.
But after only 2 years where only the best 5 can play and sitting behind a 5* and top 50 pick? TBD. That’s me speaking specifically on Kinsler, but same logic applies to a few of the guys on OL. We didn’t expect them to play early and fortunately we are in a position where they don’t have to. Our OL is also pretty good, so it’s way too early for that label for the ‘23/24 kids. 2022, knock yourself out, but the only 2 HS guys we signed are still here. One is about to be a 4 year starter, the other was our 6th OL last season.
JMO. Yes, we can improve there (we can always improve everywhere), but thats the one spot I KNOW we will be above average at as a unit. It’s literally the only one.
I never said Kinsler was a miss to be fair. If he leaves in the spring my stance would change. I'm talking about guys that have come and gone IE: Tinlau, Tripp. McCoy was more 7 than 6 imo because of Bell, but that is semantics.

So your opinion is he can only play RT and the reason he isn't playing is because of Francis? The plot has been lost here.

Only? No.

Best position? Probably.

OL can be weird like that… while we all know Mario and Mirabal like to cross train. You have to be able to do different things well to succeed playing tackle vs playing guard. Maybe he’s serviceable at guard in a pinch. What if he can’t pull worth a ****? Lol. Idk. You add playing the right vs left side… not everyone can kick slide on the ride and then flip and do it well on the left. Some can with no problem… when you see it up close it makes sense. Let’s not even get started on playing Center… 1. Not everyone can snap in the first place, much less do it well. 2. Snap well with someone lined up directly over them. Totally different skill set.

Of course I don’t know a **** thing about what’s going on in that OL room. But on face value it looks like Kinsler is probably a really good RT just not better than CiCi and while he could play other positions on the line he’s not better at those positions than the people who may be more of a natural fit for them.

Rivers and Scaife got you spoiled into thinking anyone can be a Swiss Army Knife? Lol

Scaife should not be in a sentence with Rivers. Nothing you typed moved the needle. If he can only play RT and is only ok after 3 years then we aren't losing anything. To say he is probably a really good RT with no evidence seems disingenuous to me.

You missed the point… and I’m not out to sway you one way or another. Just providing an option.

I don’t know how good he is or isn’t but what I can say with good amount of certainty is our starting OL was very good and because he plays behind them doesn’t mean he’s trash. I’m not tapped in to coaches for intel on that so not disingenuous just stating that for that position group his lack of playing just may not be reflective of his talent.

I don't think he is trash. I honestly don't have an opinion of him because he hasn't played. He hasn't been one of the top 8 OL here so my point is losing him won't matter. This discussion went elsewhere, but can't call something a loss that you never had.
