Could somebody explain why some posters have such a zeal and enthusiasm to make absolutist negative statements about Miami's chances with recruits like "He's not coming here, end of story, lock the thread"???

Second, why is there no real push back from others against it? If it were about upcoming games and people were spewing, "We have no shot against Team X, that's a loss, close the thread," there would be a mob attack showing disgust against anyone doing that.

I don't see this as any different. Anyone claiming certainty over a recruit's choice without knowing the player personally and hearing it directly out of his mouth over a period of time is just spewing nonsense, especially when you have the coaching staff and insiders indicating that the pursuit is worthwhile.

Could any of these guys say no to Miami? Of course. But in many cases it's like calling a coin flip. Just because you said tails and it landed that way doesn't mean you knew.

Just think people dont have the energy to be back and forthing people over this if thats their opinion. Eventually we'll see

IMO, not engaging with people who speak in absolute terms is a solid rule to live by

They're protecting themselves from heartbreak, but can't stay away from the thread.

In a rational sense that's absolutely true, but like I said, when the topic is how Miami's gonna fare on the field, anyone not giving us a chance is gonna get some serious arguments. Also, the main part of my question was WHY so many are motivated to proclaim we have no shot at some recruits where coaches and insiders think otherwise.
