Jeff Thomas sticking with Illinois. NOT!

Hypothetically lets say he does want to come back. Can he just reneg on the transfer and just come back with no barriers?

Yes he can. Ignorant to suggest he can’t

Ignorant? Nah...let's look at his track record. High school. Freshman year. Then this year. Nothing is gonna change unless he can access some serious therapy to work through his issues, but therapy takes time. He is just making the same mistakes over and over again. It's sad, but no sense bringing him back. He's gonna negatively impact the other kids. Time to move on. I hope he beats the odds and things turn out ok for him. Odds are long.

Of course. Once you sign a LOI, that's the last thing you "sign". After that, you play sports at the school in which you are enrolled. Did he enroll at Illinois for the spring semester? If so, he can't play football for Miami this year (or Illinois technically since he's not a grad transfer so he'd have to sit out a year). Or is he enrolled at Miami for the spring semester? If so, not only can he play this upcoming season, he could participate in spring ball as well.

Weird. He never got arrested before and made it 2 years at Miami. You think he’s a bad kid bc he was upset in our offense and how Richt was treating him?

Never said he was a bad kid. He has issues, likely from a tough childhood. That's not on him as a person. That's his circumstances. But there is no denying that he had a problem managing his emotions, making good decisions, etc. That's not gonna magically change. Yeah, the coaching staff was a mess, but the way Jeff responded to it was a problem (going off on coaches, skipping practice, quitting on the team). Doesn't matter how explosive you are if you got problem upstairs.

You act like he’s a mental patient lol. Bizzare. The kid acted how every single Miami fan was acting about Richt’s playcalling. Hes a player and supposed to keep a tight lip but Richt was ruining careers out there. He held it for 2 years. Would be an epic failure if he wanted back at Miami and we didn’t accept him. I remember when JC Jackson wanted to come to Miami and Richt said no bc of his troubled past. He starts for the New England patriots now

You are the one that has stigmatized him. There is nothing wrong with therapy. Jeff's behavior is not conducive to having a unified team. What about the talented kids of offense that don't do destructive things like Jeff? What message does that send them? Jeff has a track record of making more decisions and not being able to control his emotions going back to high school. Sometimes you can't undue the things you do in life. I hope he can succeed at Illinois and get the help he needs. Don't think we should take him back given his track record. It's not about the new coaching staff...there will be some other drama with Jeff (he has shown that pattern).

If hes back it will literally be his last chance.
Dude leaves his HS team. Dude leaves his college team. Dude leaves the other college team to come back.
If dude has to leave UM again he'll end up in some juco far away from civilization.

USN Seal Teams, the Mafia, Drag queens, the Drug Cartels, Sorority sisters, Street gangs, Wrestling Tag teams, wouldn't have him back, neither should the Miami Hurricanes.

This isn't the boy scouts
