Jeff Thomas dismissed from Miami football

From a poster on an Illinois forum who has connections to Jeffs high school... "Jeff noticed he wasn't getting targeted for over a month and express concerns. Once he did that, the staff at Miami kind of turned on him and started calling him selfish. The bottom line, he wanted to win and it didn't appear that Miami felt he was the answer. They started having issues with everything he did which created an uncomfortable situation. He pretty much was limited against Virginia Tech and was taken out of the line up at practice that following Sunday. After practice he met with his position coach and told him "if you are not going to play me I will just transfer". They had words and it didn't go well. Miami tried to reach out to him to rectify the situation on Monday and Tuesday before announcing his dismissal on Wednesday. He met with the HC and they agreed to part ways. All the extra stuff was an attempt on Miami's behalf to publicly explain why their best offensive weapon was looking to transfer."
Add in a VERY heated argument with dugans and this is really plausible actually

Absolutely plausible and it goes in line with the notion that the coaches simply don't understatnd/know how to utlize the playmakers on the roster. We have a stable of WRs, TEs, RBs and our coaches coach as if we have limited depth in those key positions. I would be frustrated as well but hoping he would reconsider.

What a bunch of mierda. "Wasn't getting targeted for over a month"? What?!? Granted, our entire offense was a trainwreck, but JT4 got as much action as anyone else on the team. He wasn't specifically not being used, it's just the staff failed to use anyone well on offense this year. But, of course, Jeff is gonna be Jeff so he makes it all about him and starts causing dissent. His comment "if you are not going to play me I will just transfer" comes the week AFTER VT when he was all over the field making plays?!? Yeah, that makes a ton of sense. And yes, that kind of attitude is absolutely selfish, regardless of frustrations you may have with the staff/scheme/offense/etc. It would be different if the kid was just being shelfed and not seeing the field, but that wasn't the case with JT4 whatsoever.

He is who he is, a diva and a quitter. Fvck him.

He had multiple games where he had one catch or guys like Wiggins got more targets than him, lol. Check the stats, dont get me wrong JT4 could be a mope but our offense let too many avg defenses dictate how we got him the ball or take him out the game completely. The VT game was first time we actually made a concerted effort to feed him the ball... By that time we already had a month of losing and most season was over!

Oh I totally agree that the staff utterly failed in utilizing JT4 who was the best weapon on our offense. I even said that in my post. But the comment he hadn't been targeted in a month is false as sh-t. And, no, that game in Blacksburg was not the only game we tried to use him. While I agree there were games he had little production and that was not due to fault of his own, he was being utilized from the opener in Dallas. We even ran jet sweeps to the kid in the rain game - which is dumb as ****, but the point is simply that, no, the team didn't completely abandon trying to use him in all games prior to VT. Not even close. The staff just sucked at utilizing anyone. But to come say if he won't be used he will transfer the week after the VT game which was arguably his best game of the season just defies common sense and logic - and also reflects how garbage and biased that illinois forum quote is.

I'm done making excuses for Jeff. Yes, he could have been utilized SO much better and could have dominated if he had been used correctly. And I can appreciate that he'd be frustrated with that. But the kid had flashed tons of talent already, was on everyone's radar (every single buddy of mine who is a big fan of a team we played this season told me going into the game with us that their biggest concern was JT4), and was one year away from cashing in the league big time even if absolutely nothing changed with our staff, scheme, etc.

As has been repeated ad nauseum on here already, he has quit on his team at every stage of his life. It's who he is. Time for people to stop making excuses and justifying him walking out on his "brothers" with two freakin weeks left in the season. Obviously time for us to move on as he's gone regardless, but he burned all good will from me personally with this last act, regardless of the circumstances that got him there.

Before Richt screwed him up: 3,238 yards, 16 TDs
After Richt screwed him up: 3,532 yards, 27 TDs

CIS gonna CIS.

U zombies make this too easy. Predictability is so common w/ brain washed Richt fandom.

Do u know why Brad Kaaya dropped in the draft? It was never a ? about if he can slang the rock (although I’m going to touch upon ur misguided stats in a sec). It was about how “stiff” he was, which Richt’s 8 game scheme caused such concerns.

In 2014 and 2015: Miami ranked 31st & 33rd, respectively in sacks allowed per game. In 2016, Miami plummeted to 51st in the nation in allowing sacks per game! That includes being ranked 91st in allowing sacks p/g, at one point, through our first 8 games! THAT'S what dropped him.

As a matter of fact, the narrative after the WVU game was Brad got hot over his last four games, but will that be enough to re-establish himself as a top tier QB if he came out.

Now, let’s talk about 2015 v. 2016. U dolts don’t even do research b4 u post, do you. You look at black and white stats w/o doing research. That's OK; fortunately, I do this. First off, Brad didn’t play in two games in 2015! Well, let me take that back; he played 8 snaps against Clemson before getting injured for the remainder of the game, and then didn’t play against Duke in 2015. So Brad played in two less games, yet between 2015 & 2016, there was a difference of, what, 300 yrds between the two seasons? Lol.

Let’s do an apples to apples comparison of what Kaaya did in 2016 against the same opponents he had in 2015:

2016 FAU: 17-31 191 yrds 0 TD 2 ints 93.7 QBR (long of 46)

2015 FAU: 21-32 287 1 TD 0 int 151.3 QBR (long of 52)
________________________________________________________________________________

2016 FSU: 19-32 214 yrds 2 TDs 1 int 129.9 QBR (long of 38)

2015 FSU: 29-49 405 yrds (career high) 3 TDs 0 int 148.8 QBR (long of 58)

_________________________________________________________________________________

2016 UNC: 16-31 224 yrds 0 TD 0 int 112.3 QBR (long of 33)

2015 UNC: 24-43 326 yrds 1 TD 1 int 122.5 QBR (long of 34)

_________________________________________________________________________________

2016 GT: 13-19 241 yrds 1 TD 0 int 192.3 QBR (long of 48)

2015 GT: 16-25 300 yrds 1 TD 0 int 178.0 QBR (long of 46)

_________________________________________________________________________________

2016 VT: 23-38 323 yrds 2 TD 1 int 122.6 QBR (long of 48)

2015 VT: 19-30 296 yrds 2 TD 0 int 148.8 QBR (long of 45)

_________________________________________________________________________________

2016 UVA: 14-29 228 yrds 2 TDs 1 int 130.2 QBR (long of 77)

2015: UVA: 20-26 286 yrds 2 TDs 1 int 187.0 QBR (long of 67)

_________________________________________________________________________________

2016: Pitt: 32-47 356 yrds 4 TDs 0 int 159.8 QBR (long of 41)

2015: Pitt: 21-35 261 yrds 1 TD 0 int 132.1 QBR (long of 48)

So apples to apples based upon mutual opponents (7 opponents):

Kaaya 2016: 134-227 58.7% (avg/game) 1,536 yrds (219.4 yrds/game) 11 TDs 5 ints QBR 137.43 (w an avg. long/game 47)

Kaaya 2015: 150-240 63.5 % (avg/game) 2,156 yrds (308 yrds/game) 11 TDs 2 ints QBR 155.41 (w an avg. long/game 50)

-In 2015, Kaaya completed under 55% of passes a total of ZERO times. In 2016, he was under 55% completion 3x.

-In 2015: Kaaya passed under 250 yrds 2x ; in 2016, Kaaya passed under 250 yrds 5x

-Finally: Kaaya in seasons prior to Richt, threw for 0 TDs in a game a grand total of 2x. In 2016 alone, Kaaya had 3 such contest, including
one against a G5 opponent.

You dolts kill me. Ur no different than D’Onforio and Golden toting around back in 2013 how our D was 13th in total defense, yet when you peeled back the real numbers, based upon opponents, our D sucked and as the yrs went by, evidenced proves that.

FOH.

I stopped reading when you blamed his draft stock on sacks per game, as though an NFL team thinks Kaaya would be bringing his college O-line with him. I feel bad that you did all that research just to end up looking dumber than when we started.

I love how he automatically dismissed Duke (396 yards, 4 TDs) and West Virginia (282, 4 TDs) just because Kaaya didn't play against them in 2015. You could work for CNN.

Why would I?? It's called APPLES TO APPLES dummy.
