I know this has been discussed before, but I do think that some of these guys have been purposely held back to allow them to develop physically and mentally. Doing so, if true, would certainly have negatively impacted the play of the defense in the short term. Allowing the less talented upperclassmen to "take the lumps" for the longer term good of the program may have been a calculated move by this staff. Whether that would be a good move or not is definitely debatable, but it also might explain why AG has been so supportive and thankful for the seniors who "stuck with the program". Complete speculation on my part, and not an excuse for the ****-poor defense. Just saying that there may be some method to this madness.

Zero chance.

The coaching industry is fickle and all about turnover. If a coach feels a certain guy can help him win a game right now...you bet your *** he's playing.

The fact Blue has hardly been mentioned given how bad our defense has been....not a good sign.

I understand that, but I also understand that a lot of these kids have fragile egos. They are not used to failure. Putting them on the field to take the lumps could do them more harm in the long run than letting them watch the failure from the sidelines. This would at least allow the kid to learn from the mistakes of others, while developing his own game in practice, the weight room, film room, etc. Anyway, yes, coaching is fickle and all about the here and now, in general. I personally don't get that vibe from AG. He seems like more of a long-term sustainability type.

He may have a point because we all know that the players he played sucked *** and the elite players he wanted on the field.

He's a redshirt sophomore.

Still has 3 years to show something. Don't write him off.

I am hoping he can develop. Just gotta give hime a little more time. I bet the time when perryman leaves, he needs to be fighting tooth and nail to replace him in the ILB. After this upcoming season, I expect a sink/swim approach from the coaches.
