LSU started two true freshmen on their OL this year and made it to the SEC Championship

Texas had multiple freshmen.

what's your point again?
2 teams out of how many P5 teams.
Tamu’s record is?
Did they start out of necessity or because all those dudes beat out crappy talent.

How Many tf did osu Bama or uga start.
How Many true freshman played on the oline in the playoffs the past few years.
Better yet, how many playoff teams since the bcs started had a true freshman at left tackle?

Evan Neal started for Bama at left guard because the starter got hurt. By the time he got back halfway through the season Neal had locked it up.
Neal played 3 years and got drafted first round. But he didn’t start as a tf at left tackle and he’s pretty elite.
If he came here yes, day one because of who we have.
Elite teams usually have elite older players and it’s very difficult to start as a tf.
If Samson and Francis start day one it’s not only because they’re good but it’s also because of the lack of depth and talent at the position and that’s not the place you want to be at to be a playoff team.

So the point isn’t that it can’t happen. The point is that you really don’t want that to be the case if you’re an elite team.
Alex leatherwood was bama’s left tackle for 3 years despite them taking elite tackles every year.

Texas not ATM. Bama, UGA , Clemson and maybe Oklahoma have all started TF at tackle since the playoff started

OL will never be a problem with mario and mirabal.

even looking back, we almost nabbed Josh Conerly last cycle which was wild considering all the change and cross country.

A great OL masks a lot of other issues with teams and we'll be much better for it

appears he's been told that he'll play guard, not tackle. Zion is slated to return at LT.

Asked if he’ll definitely play left guard, Cohen replied: “I plan on playing whatever coach wants me to play, but I assume that will be blindside guard."
So that probably means Jalen is either going to RG or RT

Bama had Cam Robinson and Jonah Williams. Jonah started out at RT because of Robinson. Clemson had Mitch Hyatt at LT.
Even for Bama and Clemson it’s a rarity. Last time a tf started at Bama before cam was 2006.
At Clemson it was 2004 before any tf started anywhere on their line before Hyatt.
Before Hyatt At left tackle Clemson didn’t have a tf start there since 1944!
It’s probably becoming more common due to the elite freaks of nature coming out of high school. But it’s still a nightmare transition imo.
