That could be true. I think the thing to recall is when did he announce he was transferring, which I believe was during the "Miami-Mario smoke period".

I'm with you in thinking that he'd pull the plug just from rumors of Mario leaving because if his intention was to follow Mario if he left, then he could've did that once Mario was official to UM. I can't see any advantage by doing it prior to Mario making the final decision to leave Oregon.
