Jaquwan Nelson Commits: #WelcomeToTheU

Like the pick up, not sure about his comp but has all the measurables, runs a 4.68 40, high potential.

Ft Lauderdale HS plays very good competition.

2014 Schedule
@ Nova Titans
@ Flanagan Falcons
vs. Coral Springs Colts
@ Northeast Hurricanes (*)
vs. West Broward Bobcats
@ Blanche Ely Tigers (*)
@ Lakeland Dreadnaughts
vs. Hollywood Hills Spartans
@ Boyd Anderson Cobras (*)
@ Stranahan Mighty Dragons
@ Royal Palm Beach Wildcats

decent comp. his high school doesn't get much love but he's a talented kid.

Looks like a nice pick-up that can be trained by Al and Dono....Currently he's playing to much in the other teams backfield and making sacks and tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Has a big fault of destroying QB's and RB's, causing fumbles and interceptions but I'm sure with proper coaching he could contain himself and wait for the runners and passes to come his way at the line of scrimmage, thus playing to Al and Dono's defensive philosphy.
Has he shown he can cover the slot and wideouts?

Fishbein knows what he's talking about. 4 times out of 5 he's on the money on who pays off in college. And the other 1 out of 5 is often due to a recruit ******** up off the field. And as for the comparison to a day 1 pro pick, the point is playing style and physical attributes, not that every kid projects to be a Ray Lewis or Adrian Peterson.

This is a good pickup.

Hold your horses there...fish is good but with an 80% hit rate he would be the highest paid recruiting coordinator in the country not running a small regional scouting agency.

WELCOME TO THE U......

tHROW THEM L's Up.....

Like the pick up...guarantee this kid gets little to know coaching....he is raw...But kid has ****loads of talent.....If he was at STA...he would likely have big time offers everywhere....there isn't much 6'4-6'5 225-230 pd dends down here with his athleticism....Kid reminds me of D-Jack who took the redshirt last year..but seems to be alredy making strides and will see the field as a rs freshman.

I like the pick up...Li like Burns out of Heritage the most ..but he aint no consolation prize...snatch up Bethel or Burns with him and we're good..Golden needs to focus on DLINE for us to hit big...the last two clases have done that imo.

Always appreciate your takes on the local kids.

Thanks for posting.

very raw but seems to be able to get into the backfield quickly, after a red shirt year to work on his mechanics he should be a solid contributor on our defense

How can you project a redshirt year for Johnson when he hasn't gone his last spring and summer in H.S., nor has played his sr. year yet?

His next few offers will tell you everything you need to know. He'll get instant cred from everyone if he gets an offer from the likes of Auburn, Ohio State etc.
