JAQUAN JOHNSON COMMITS

Not trying to be a debbie downer but man he needs to work a lot on tackling.... I was actually more impressed with him as a wide receiver and returner than a defensive player. Obviously he's a very vocal player and leader but the video showed he arm tackles too much. Not complaining though because I do like his pursuit on run plays and his coverage definitely looks the part. Great pickup and definitely someone who can help get other recruits to join.
There are still those that think the world is flat too.

Tim Irvin

Clarington....but he tried to get Tim to come with and although called him a lock, he wants to wait

Devonaire is next but I don't see him getting in. This is a Trayone Gray situation on steroids.

Tim won't be announcing till December at the earliest but again, we seem to be in the drivers seat.

agree all that transferring is going to bite clarington in the a$$

All throughout high school Clarrington has had a bad attitude towards academics and authority (on the field along with off the field). He thinks he can just sit on his offers to get to where he wants to go. I dont think he realizes that hes in for a rude wake up call.

I greatly prefer Jaason Lewis to Clarington, but I have no idea if we have a legit shot at landing him. Not only is Lewis a better player (IMO), but he doesn't come with the inevitable NCAA Clearinghouse issues.

Have to get him here for an OV before he announces next month.

Worst part (which is funny i say "worst" because he is actually a great football player who would help our program if he could qualify) about it is that he wants to be here. He wants to play at Miami. Always has, always will. I just see a Derrick Griffin situation starting to play out.

Sorry I'm wayyy too late to the party but my godson was born last night. We got another Cane!

WELCOME TO THE U JAQUAN!!!

Congratulations my brotha! God Bless!

saw someone listed him at 4.75. if he's a 4.75, that's the slowest 4.75, but, either way, i'll take it. kid is just a fb player.

he ran that at the opening, bad run. kid plays much faster on tape, he's a 4.5 - 4.6 guy his instincts make him seem even faster.

Where are all the mopers when we get a KICK A$$ recruit?

I'm glad that F/A/G hasnt packed it in recruiting wise ala Randy and obviously want as much elite talent as we can get BUT idrgaf about an Aug. commitment with the whole season to play out, which I expect a dumpster fire

there will be a big shake up in recruiting when F/A/G loses this team and the wheels come off this year

You mopes have been hoping, praying, and pretending, that Golden has "lost" the team for a few years now, continually ignoring the actual words of the players and recruits about how much they admire Golden and love playing for him. But keep saying it and maybe it will come true one day, right?

you must have missed the last 6 games of 2013

We would have probably won most of those games but for Randy Shannon committing gross negligence his last two years on the recruiting front. What he did his final year was unforgivable.

Jaquan Johnson to me is basically another Lamarcus Joyner. His coach at Killian coached both and basically said as much #UM

One of the things I always admired about Joyner was that even while he didn't have the ideal size or measurements, he was a leader on the field and a baller on Saturdays.

I feel that's exactly the type of guy Johnson is. An incredible pickup, and I'm probably overstepping, but I'm just about as excited about this one as I was when Chad Thomas committed last year.

And HUGE props to Golden as well. Based on Darrow's Tweets, you can't recruit a kid any better.

Everyone of your post are negative as ****. If you don't like what's going on don't watch and don't goto canes boards to *****. That's like knowing drinking this drink will make me **** my pants but **** it lets do it anyway. Get a life bro.

Mr. "concept of chance" chiming in to spew complete nonsensical speculation. cool story. I'm sure swapping out Highsmith and Rodgers would make up for 3 TDs and a couple hundred yards of offense allowed.

are you really this stupid?

I am the opposite of whatever you think is smart. Go Canes!

Shannon -- after the season was over -- had two of those guys committed, one of whom was a legacy. That gave Al a few weeks to recruit an entire class from what was left in the uncommitted pool. Yes, I would say that probably had a slight impact on last year's team in light of the fact that that class would be the foundation for it.

why dont you explain this "concept of chance"? I would be enthralled to get your take on this.

I did. You didn't understand it. Which in your world makes me stupid and you smart. I'll accept that.

Yet another example as to why Rivals is an absolute joke...

Jaquan Johnson, who's primed to become the first ever four-time All-Dade selection and was hotly coveted by each of the Big 3 in the state of Florida, is not in the Rivals 250.

But former Miami commit Kevin Feder -- who didn't even start at OT at Bosco last year -- is now ranked as a Top 100 player in the entire class by Rivals, supposedly because of one strong camp performance shortly before flipping to Ohio State.

Absolute clown show over there.

Here's Quans videos.

He's about 5'11" 185-190 range right now. 4.5-4.6, one of those types who works hard in the weight room. Has put on more muscle since last season. Also has a very high GPA and is looking to enroll early.

Can't wait for The Franchise to get here. Many have said it and I have said it and Blu. Jaquan #1 in south florida this year. We got a special kid.
