JAQUAN JOHNSON COMMITS

but his 40 time guys.... and his numbers at the opening.. and all those other places that test out kids when they arent really playing football with pads on and are just playing touch football and 7on7...

40 time shmorty time. I've seen him live and it's been said over the past three years he runs in the 4.5-4.6 range. I'm telling you, that 4.7 was a bad run. He is not slow, not blazing, but he is not slow either, he has good speed. His instincts is what makes him faster on the field too.

Not only did I mention the big chunk of time he missed last season as a junior due to injury. You have to look at his freshman and sophomore highlights to get an even better view of what he does in a whole year.

He played great last year and made a lot of plays in a short time but missed a lot of time if your only watching his junior tape.

That's only a small sample from a few games last year due to his injury. His sophomore and freshman tape is even better cause it's a full season instead of a few games like his junior year.

If he stays healthy and plays the whole season. Oh boy. Can't wait to see him this year as a senior. He has bulked up too and is gonna play in the all-star game in December. Can't wait.

And he kills it in these 7 on 7 meets. One of the last ones, he was getting multiple picks like every game. Think Tito was posting about it. The 7 on 7 meet that Carol City won with Newbold and Buckshot.

You can't even understand my excitement that he's committed now. You really have to watch Jaquan live to understand.

Lol u seem very excited in all these posts.

You have no idea. He's my favorite recruit for the 15 class.

Wait till Newbold commits for 2016. I'll literally **** a brick.

I really like Ol Dude's tape. Brings the level of intensity and relentlessness we need at the DT position. His bull rush is second to none. Minimum 2nd team all-ACC and 3rd-team all-American. Second rounder at worst. Louisville!!! Prepare thine ****! Ol Dude comin'.

Kill me for it. Guys down here have compared him to Reed.

I would say an Ahmad Black floor and a Ed Reed ceiling.

Kids been doing this **** for a long time though. Even since pop warner. From his freshman year till now.

Take it for what you want. My favorite in 2015 and Blustein #1 as well. And some others. And Blu watched many great ones through the years.

I must temper my expectations but from his tape of all his years. I see Reed, but even if he ended up like Black I would be happy.

And Kenny was a better prospect, measurable wise, because he had prototype nfl safety size and speed. But I think Jaquan instincts a slight notch higher than Kenny at the same stage.

Would Jaquan play right away? Maybe, but I expect him to start by his second or third year. Remember, we still got Deon and Dallas as juniors, Carter a sophomore, and two freshman in Hester and Gayot. Even though I personally think Gayot will end up at LBer.

Jenkins career is up in the air, his injury very serious, might not ever come back.

And I could definitely see one of Dallas or Deon leaving early this year if one or the other has a great year. Leaning more towards Bush cause he has nfl size and athleticism, if he has a great year now being healthy.

Would actually like if they gave Jaquan a shirt his first year and save a year. See him being one of those types who stays all 4 years, so might as well.

Think we have the luxury to redshirt some guys who would usually play right away cause were finally building depth. But I expect him to be in the lineup by his second or third year.

Deon Bush
Dallas Crawford
Rayshawn Jenkins
Jamal Carter
Kiy Hester
Marques Gayot
Jaquan Johnson

In a word...LOADED!!!!!

Tim Irvin could be in that group as well.

Tim will be a safety and a CB!
Tim would play the nickel/safety role.

Aka the honey badger or lamarcus Joyner role.

And I think his game is tailor made for it. And as someone mentioned before in other threads, he would be our best punt returner day he steps on campus, he is unreal on punt return.

Would love to add SBB to that group, but no getting my hopes up on that right now.

Could imagine some years from now coming out in a nickel formation from 2015 class with Jaquan and SBB at safety, Cole and Davante at Corner and Irvin in the nickel. That's a QBs nightmare.

A man can dream right?

I see Irvin, Cole and Davante being realistic though in this class.

Amazing how loaded south Florida is at DB this year that we aren't pursuing a guy like Kendrell McFadden 4* safety at Miramar who I think is a good safety prospect. Kid loved the U from what I had last heard.

That's how deep it is this year.

With a great year performance wise, yes, their an injury away from Carter eating more of their play time.

Always looked at Deon being one of those 3 and done types if he has a great junior year.

Dallas seems more of the type to stay till his senior year but remember, he is a redshirt junior, this is his 4th year. Probably finishing up his degree, so it wouldn't be out of the question either.

Deon is healthy now. A healthy Deon is different from a banged up and family issue Deon. Some people have forgotten quickly actually how good he is when healthy.

There's like 4-5 future first round picks in that pic... And I guarantee they will all get drafted high

Every guy in that picture will play professional football.

Guy with the least chance is probably Bush/Kaaya.

Everybody else? STUD!!!!

Another player comparison I've had play over and over in my mind every time I watch his highlights, is Peter Warrick.

Not trying to be a debbie downer but man he needs to work a lot on tackling.... I was actually more impressed with him as a wide receiver and returner than a defensive player. Obviously he's a very vocal player and leader but the video showed he arm tackles too much. Not complaining though because I do like his pursuit on run plays and his coverage definitely looks the part. Great pickup and definitely someone who can help get other recruits to join.

Love that those clowns on Warchant dropped this gem 24 hours ago regarding Jaquan Johnson's commitment...they had his temperature as HOT for him to be a Nole:

"Florida State made a very solid impression on Johnson when he visited for the FSU camp for about two days. Johnson has a lot of friends at FSU and his interest is very legit."
