That's not the point he is making. I think what he is arguing is that (1) there are a limited number of ACC-caliber players out there, and (2) it is very difficult to get many of them to come to Miami. So if you miss a class one year (like we did in 2018), you can't just "make up" for it the next year.
The year that we got Bruce Brown, it's not like we said "well we can get 5 Bruce Browns, but we already got one, so we're going to stop here". They fought tooth and nail to get as many Bruce Browns as possible, and they managed to get one, which was good. They would've been happy to get more.
Now if we're talking about Joe Thomases (low-talent depth guys), then sure, there is probably a pretty deep pool of those. L should try to fill out his roster with more of those types.
But the FBI cost us Bruce Browns, and L's roster mismanagement costs us Joe Thomases. You guys can waste your breadth complaining about all of the Joe Thomases that should be on this team. The real problem is there are not enough Bruce Browns.
