Resume sounds A LOT like Frank Haith, before he was hired at Miami. If Miami makes this hire, it's beyond obvious that Rad and the powers that be don't give a ****, because there's no way that Miami can't do better than this. Looks like the "Miami is a football school, every other sport doesn't matter" faction won out, if this is the play. Might as well hire Caputo if you are going to do this lazy crap.
Not even close

I'd also keep an eye on Columbus coach Andrew Moran as a possible member of staff.

That would be a good hire and would probably help a lot with in state recruiting.
It will not help with the Boozer twins but it should help with guys like Caleb Gaskins along with other South Florida players ranked in the Top 100.

Frank Haith did some good and some bad during his time at Miami.
One thing for sure, Coach Haith left Coach L more talent then Coach L is leaving the next HC.
Very few will admit it but the first Miami team Coach L took to the Sweet 16 were mostly Frank Haith recruits.

Ya'll so worried about coaching expierence when he's in line to get a big time job, this year or next year :pgdead:
Great, let him get on the job training elsewhere.

Miami doesnt have to be develeopment training for rookie head coaches.

You got the state of Mississippi hiring Chris Beard and Chris Jans, and Miami who has actually been good at bball hiring Jai Lucas????

These garbage hires are why the SEC has lapped the ACC in hoops.

ACC programs hiring unproven assistants, and SEC hiring proven winners.

Current problems with the 2024-25 Miami Hurricanes basketball roster.
Offensive philosophy and execution.
Defensively philosophy and execution.
Roster construction (largely because the pieces don't seem to fit).

What do Jai Lucas bring to the table?
Great recruiter
Defensive coordinator or lead at Duke

In fairness, Jai does check two of the three boxes. The last box is very important but he can hire a former HC who has a good offensive philosophy to help him in these early years of his coaching career.

Saying Jai Lucas is a great recruiter while recruiting at blue bloods is a big leap.

I can recruit at Duke and Kentucky.

Easier said than done. He is actually on the staff and that is what other people have said about him given his time at Duke and Kentucky.
You are right, from a certain point of view.
I think he has the work ethic it takes to upgrade the talent that is currently on the roster this season.

So, they're gonna announce this before the season ends huh
