Are you even reading what people are saying, or are you responding just to argue. What people are asking is why is it so incredibly difficult for Miami to run a SENSIBLE, RATIONAL hiring process, while **** near every other school worth a crap manages to pull off a solid search at least once. Yes, Alabama has made some inspired hires, a lot of them didn't work out long term, but you could easily justify them. Say what you want about Mal Moore, dude took hiring seriously.
Is it about results or process? The guy i replied to mentioned results — which we have zero of Lucas’ so far (as a HC…..) while we know a bunch about the programs and coaches he listed that he acts like are poverty programs who made some brilliant move hiring troubled or treading water HCs. The easiest comparison for our decision to hire Lucas will continue to be Quinn Snyder.
You mention processes and Rad did a great job here with his final 3. Who gives af about the what if game. The guy who hired Coach L isn’t here anymore! This is like the same **** with Cam Ward everybody on this board keeps running around saying. Yes we got lucky. The luck resides in reality. These what if scenarios are a bottomless pit of imaginary doom & gloom.
Trust the process is Al Golden slang. Now Katie Meir is a freak accident

Paul Dee isn’t even here anymore, but since you insist, his great decision was no-decision re: Leonard Hamilton. Another AD may have been quick to pull the trigger on a firing.
Bruh our fanbase invented/remixed messaging planes for firing head coaches. No idea how you can say we don’t put pressure on people. I hated the Manny Diaz hire and wanted Mario from back then. Mark Richt felt the pressure and retired. Diaz was fired after three years.
Idc about the trauma in the past. This is also the basketball board. We made a basketball hire, and it was indeed a good one — “process wise.”
Sensing who is the right guy happens during interviews and research — which Lucas, Pitino, Quinn, and others went through. No clue whose agents Rad has talked to throughout this season. The point of the search is to find the man for the future. It should also be noted that Louisville has passed on hiring Richard Pitino three times in the last 5 years now.
We could’ve hired Mike Anderson who is one of the three head coaches (Izzo, Few) w/o a losing season. I doubt anyone wants him. Could’ve played it safe & called VCU’s head coach, Shaka Smart or Frank Martin. It’s possible those guys were interested, it’s possible we talked to them. Other names can be inserted, impossible to know from my pov.
I frankly believe that Coach L’s son should have been given strong consideration. He would have been a hire comparable to Kevin Young, although I’m sure some would find a way to hate on him.
I see a bunch of these other schools going through “irrational and nonsensical” processes by hiring the favorite/best assistant of their longtime coach — Duke, Syracuse, UNC, Ohio State, Villanova, etc. We’ll see what direction Virginia goes in.
