This is something I emailed about after the interview with Coach Cristobal with the signing day class of 2024. It was horrible. I copied AD about it. Seemed it didn’t matter which is ridiculous.

Ugochukwu is from the Houston area and I'd imagine is very familiar with Lucas family. There are obvious ties there so would guess he'd have opportunity to stay if interest was mutual.

Staton-McCray is a local kid and going to be a senior so I would think he comes back to be a rotation player. Bethea is a complete wildcard. He wasn't good enough to justify getting drafted but I'd imagine schools will be throwing huge money his way to get him to transfer.

Our coaching staff was mid-major level so zero chance any of them get retained. I'd be shocked if he kept much/any of the support staffers either. There's going to be a complete overhaul.

I know we're talking apples and oranges with 3 and 99. One was all-world in hype this time last year, the other an afterthought to recruiting.

Bottom line is neither posted impressive stats, even considering they were true frosh. Lucas will have to evaluate on potential. My guess is he'll try to keep Bethea, maybe say goodbye to 99 (he can't shoot the 3 ball at all and in today's game that is a big negative).
