Jai Lucas had a successful first day as the coach of the Miami Hurricanes.
During Lucas press conference interview he had some positive things to say on the upcoming 2026 class. More importantly to the Florida targets.
“I mean it's kind of like I spoke about earlier. Especially with this next class coming up in 2026 class there probably Florida has the best talent coming up these next couple of years,"
The two players inside the top 45 from Florida that the Canes have been linked to the heaviest are two South Florida products. Alex Costanza, 6'8 wing from Westminister Academy in Miami is #16 while Collin Paul, a 6'6 SF from Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale is #45 in the rankings.
Other Florida products in the rankings are #17 Chris Washington Jr ( The Villages, FL ), #23 Caleb Gaskins ( Miami / Melbourne, FL ), #25 Toni Bryant ( Tampa, FL ), #30 Joe Philon ( Tampa, FL ) and #31 Felipe Quinones ( Bradenton, FL ) and #41 Jermal Jones ( Riverview, FL ).
Miami is hoping to bring in Andrew Moran, the head coach at Christopher Columbus, who just won the state title in Florida and could give a big boost to their recruiting, especially with prospects like Cameron and Cayden Boozer and five-star forward Caleb Gaskins on his radar.
