2026 Jaelen “Seatbelt” Waters

Jaelen Waters, 2026 Top247 CB, Florida commit (live-stream): One of the reasons why Wilson wasn't able to get going is because of Jaelen Waters. The junior constantly drew the blue-chip wide receiver in coverage and held his own with patience and sound technique. Waters, who is taller than 6-foot, understands how to use the sideline to his advantage and also displayed the ability to anticipate routes.

There are times when Waters will need safety help, but this was an encouraging outing for the youngster against a dangerous wide receiver.

Waters has been down to South Florida this year, taking in the Miami vs. Florida A&M game alongside his teammates in commit Girard Pringle and top linebacker target Kellen Wiley.

"Me and [cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson] are good," Waters said of Miami. "When I went down there, me and him had a long talk about film and schemes and stuff like that. Me and him are on the same page about me going through my recruitment process, so I got a great relationship with him too."

"They play like dogs. They just got a different swag out there. It's just a different swag out there, a different swag on defense I see with Miami," Waters said.

"I'm hearing what everybody else is hearing. It's really mutual. I still got love for Florida because I didn't commit to a coach, I committed to a school," Waters said. "I'm locked in with Florida, but I still talk with other schools, which is Miami and LSU."

I think his brother is committed to LSU

And who might that be?
I don’t know I heard his dad saying he has two D1 sons. But he doesn’t play for armwood. I think he a 27 kid if I’m not mistaken. But I might have heard it wrong about him being committed. He might’ve said he a LSU lean.

Geo mentioned in his massive recruiting write up today that he's thinking about reclassifying

  • An important note regarding four-star cornerback Jaelen Waters (Florida commit) is that he is considering reclassifying from 2026 to 2025. I mentioned that last week here:

    - it is an interesting situation considering the number of defensive backs that Miami has committed and those still on their target board for the class of 2025. I'm not entirely sure where he would fit in terms of their plans yet. However, Miami is actively recruiting three of his teammates for 2025: WR Tyler Williams (Georgia commit), LB Kellen Wiley Jr., and RB Girard Pringle Jr. (Miami commit). It's a situation I will continue to monitor.

Easy decision, grab Seatbelt drop the guy that struggles to defend WRs.
