Jaden Harris needs to never start again

I could be wrong but to me that looks like Brown’s responsibility was to maintain outside leverage with help from Harris over the top on that side of the field.

Brown got a tad too outside on the initial move at the line of scrimmage but did a decent job flipping his hips to get upfield and maintain coverage.

If Harris does anything right there and just floats to the boundary and helps, there’s nothing open and it’s a blind side sack by Barron.

DB's have had no idea what's going on ever since Mario stepped on campus.

Kinchens was getting blasted on here too.

If he had the slightest idea of what he's doing out there that's either an INT (if he was actually decently fast) or a sack by barron. Did he forget he had a fellow safety 5 yards to his right? ******* probably. "Let me let a go route right past me so I can stand in one spot and wait for this crosser that's already double covered."

I honestly don't know what his assignment was...but how do you not even think to help up top? Markeith (I think) already helping with the inside breaking route. Meeks (WR that caught this pass at top of screen) had just ran the same streak route 3-4 times in the previous drive.

This is a perfect example of "low football IQ."

Honestly, this is foundational safety stuff, I am talking about Peewee thru JV type concepts he is missing.

He is distracted by the bunch formation on the field side. You can see his head turns that way immediately without the QB even looking him off.

The alarm should be going off in his head that what they are looking for is single coverage on Meeks, that's the defenses biggest vulnerability. You have numbers everywhere else.

Now, if you're playing S, and you're still unsure or confused, then drop back and keep everyone in front of you, hence the position you play, "SAFETY!"

There's blow coverages which result in chunk plays, and then there's those which are TDs. Play S.A.F.E.T.Y. and fight another down.

I believe their might be more than 1 S hitting the portal. Jaden is a good kid. Once he got nicked up, like game 3, he just went downhill. I feel bad for him, but it was terrible.
The more I go back and watch, the worse it is on D. Not one position was coached well and I know some of the guys are good coaches. I don't understand. Regardless, it all starts at the top. Fire Guidry and he was Mario's 2nd DC. Stop the 8 hour enterviews and 2 month firing and hiring process. You can't miss on this. Next season their is going to be more talent and speed just young. The portal will be the difference in how much better we are. Oh, besides most importantly coaching.
I believe the thought in the building is we are clueless when it comes to this D staff. Their has been excuses that would make you laugh. Some are legit.
Keep forgetting, being mentally prepared and up for games has been awful also. On a positive note, Feld and company have done a great job with these players.

Last and not the least, this team won 10 games for the 2nd time in 20 years. Again, we didn't reach our potential, but this program is definitely heading in the right direction. You would think we are FSU with our fanbase since Sat.

Yeah I pointed this out in different thread. Looks awful. Having slept on it, only thing I can think in defense of #7 is that #15 was supposed to bracket the TE on the near hash, took the wrong guy, and #7 was supposed to bracket the slot #82. That's how we played defense against Cuse a lot of the game: one safety brackets the slot the other safety brackets Gadsen. Left our corners on islands and didn't work out, but it's possible that was what was supposed to happen here.

A real coach would have benched him and kept him there. Players aren’t held accountable

George and Harris should have been benched. Harris for being terrible and George for being a knucklehead. George could earn the trust and his starting job back but Harris should have not seen the field again.
