I think the argument, "but we were good last year on defense", is missing the fact that it was Guidry's first year. It's entirely possible, and honestly my opinion, that the defensive side of the ball has such poor development and coaching that the only reason Guidry got away with it last year was because the players had experience with other coaches and the culture hadn't had time to set in. You give Guidry and this staff a full off season and a lot of new players and they destroyed it all.
I think the only way Miami can keep momentum is if they hit another home run in the portal at QB (odds are against them), throw a ton of money at Dawson, and completely clean house on defense.
