I honestly don't know what his assignment was...but how do you not even think to help up top? Markeith (I think) already helping with the inside breaking route. Meeks (WR that caught this pass at top of screen) had just ran the same streak route 3-4 times in the previous drive.

Easily guidrys most glaring reason to be fired was trotting him out there every single **** week…. And defending him since week 1 when shocker he was the one that gave up the only big play to the gators for a 50 yard run

Williams jumped the in route, OJ and Brown took the deep routes. Williams was lucky that Powell stayed with his man or he would have been running free.

Four wideouts vs six in the secondary.

Three with single coverage, one with triple coverage--and triple coverage was not Meeks. Criminal; absolutely criminal. I get that CMC waiting for the CFP committee to make decisions on our playoff future but **** that. We have no time to waste. Guidry and Chevis should be shown the door and we got some personnel that need to be encouraged to visit the portal.

Brown jams the receiver Barron gets the sack. All Guildry had to do was make McCord hesitate for one second this game. If 7 was the least bit engaged into the game he catches that pass like a punt. I may be wrong but this play and the continuous coverage bust throughout the season tell me this is not a close group outside of football. There is no continuity with them. They get they film time in with the coaches and go off and do they on thing. They needed someone like Cam on defense. Someone that will get them up and hold them to a standard. The defense as a whole has no leader.

All game the CBs were giving the WRs the inside. Pretty sure Pitt played press man with 2 deep and forced McCord to hold the ball for more than 2 seconds causing sacks and INTs.

I think the argument, "but we were good last year on defense", is missing the fact that it was Guidry's first year. It's entirely possible, and honestly my opinion, that the defensive side of the ball has such poor development and coaching that the only reason Guidry got away with it last year was because the players had experience with other coaches and the culture hadn't had time to set in. You give Guidry and this staff a full off season and a lot of new players and they destroyed it all.

I think the only way Miami can keep momentum is if they hit another home run in the portal at QB (odds are against them), throw a ton of money at Dawson, and completely clean house on defense.

I try not to **** on players too much but Jaden Harris is possibly the worst defensive back I’ve ever seen at Miami. Robert Knowles was twice the player.
