Jacurri Brown in the portal will probably come back to hurt us if he reunites with Rhett Lashlee at SMU half of his roster are former canes. Brown has a big arm fast legs and his accuracy has gotten better. He is a definite big time player who in the right system could be dangerous.

Can you define the word "reunite"?

Rhett Lashlee took the SMU job in November 2021. Jacurri enrolled at UM in January 2022.

Thanks anyhow.

Brown showed up at Miami in 2022. Lashlee left for SMU after the 2021 season. What's with our fans' obsession and fear of a two-year Canes o-coordinator who never ran the ball—going 15-8 over that stretch, bailed out often by a scrambling D'Eriq King—as if he's the quarterback guru, or is molding superstars out there in University Park, Texas.

SMU has a few guys from Miami; hardly "half the team" in 2023:

KeyShawn Smith - 25 receptions, 392 yards, 3 TDs

Romello Brinson - 28 receptions, 431 yards, 2 TDs

Jaylan Knighton - 136 carries, 745 yards, 7 TDs

Elijah Roberts - 37 total tackles, 9.5 sacks

Great, SMU won the AAC and now join the ACC; having gone 0-3 against P5 programs last year and 1-9 in their last ten game against P5 schools. Good luck with all that. They're also set at quarterback, so why would Brown rush to work with an offensive coordinator that was last at Miami a year before he arrived on campus?

I honestly would pay money to a charity if the narrative around JB in the program could simply move on to:

- super talented athlete
- great kid and teammate
- truly wanted to be a cane
- wasn’t a fit for the offense that Dawson runs so even though athletically he might be QB2 he is not a natural transition backup should cam go down in this offense
- wanted to stay a qb and not move positions
- thus for his own aspirations as hard as it is, it’s good for him to move on to a place where the opportunity and scheme fits
- (spoiler will get nfl looks but most likely not at qb but who knows- would love to be wrong)

Everything else around this is bull**** and not necessary

Forgot about Jakai Clark and now Brashard.

With Jordan Miller on the squad last year and having Lashlee, Likens, Justice an King all coaching there (even though they had a cup of coffee here)… feels like half sometimes.

Satire?

Or leave it here as off-season red meat for the hungry savages.

I like this idea. We need a new thread title though.

The more I read this board I truly understand that posters like you do not watch college football. I’ve seen so many starting p5 quarterbacks that are worse than JB. **** we got one on our team right now if we’re really being honest.
Considering there are 69 P5 teams, then sure, I'm sure Brendan Sullivan at Northwestern has a big target on his back.

Mac Brown has worked with that kind of skill set before.
