I rarely post but I thought this was interesting.
While I went out for a beer with some football pals at a local pub, we asked to put the preseason CFL game on, was the Edmonton Eskimos vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders. Jacory Harris comes on the field as the fourth string QB.
He had an admirable performance, one that will cause him not to make the team but was not bad at all. 4/6 for 32 yards and 2 rushes for 11 yards.
I got pretty heckled from my friends since I've been following recruiting since he was in high school.
Hopefully he makes the team.
Don't be afraid to watch the CFL boys, look at their offenses you will notice of lot of the spread formations ideas have come from this league. Although I may be biased since I play 3 down college ball here and currently coach my hometowns rep provincial football which plays 3 down football, Sudbury in Northern Ontario, Canada if you were wondering, and yes very north.
Hope Jacory makes it, didn't see any other players for The U playing though.

Good for him.

I know his time here wasn't the prettiest, but he was always out there giving everything he could. Plus he has shown great love for Miami since he left.

Jacory committed to UM when the program was in disarray. He came here and did the best he possibly could. He always repped the U.

I just dont see how any Canes fan can hate on this kid. Perhaps its because his name gets mentally linked to Randy's failures and/or the whole Miami Northwestern nonsense.

I wish him the best of luck.

I thought he was going to be a stud, and I still think he could've been a very good college football quarterback. He let himself get caught up in the Miami spotlight and he had the wrong coaches.

After the FSU game where he won in trailorhassee, I thought Jacory had everything he needed to be the next great canes QB. Unfortunately that was the highlight of his career. Hopefully, he stays on the team and i get a chance to see him in Toronto

One more year.

Just one more year with Golden and Fisch. What those 3 accomplished together in such a short time was a miracle.

I cannot say that I share that opinion. I dont think he was ever going to be a good QB. He lacked too many tools.

He was a head case by his junior year. He found new life under the new regime and fought through his mental struggles to have a respectable senior season.

That is a ***** to do. JH earned my respect for being a tough cookie. Wish him well.

i will never forget that game. i won 500 dollars, bragging rights, confidence in those canes (enough for me to "kinda like" randy) and also my buddy who is an FSU alum had to get THE U shaved on both sides of his fade. Will always have a soft spot for the kids who played in that game.

it is **** **** **** tough to be a miami QB if you arent producing. may be the toughest place in the country.

killed Kyle Wrights confidence, glad it didnt kill Jacorys.

+1

That's why I respect the kid... He was tough... Played through injuries in 09 and had a terrible 2010... The media and fans killed him but he bounced back in 2011... Although we only won 7 games he kept us in all our losses except BC... His performance against VT, KSU, UVA and UNC was incredible... He made every throw asked of him... He made some perfect passes... He'll be alright...
